Lemme find out he has even a training AR
LOL! Had a red gun AR but that even jammed a couple times ;)

Told Grand I was really close to surprising the boy with a .22 AR here not that long ago. Then I realized I had better keep him from the path to the Dark Side.

Worked knives this session. Better to play bleed now than try and learn during so get out there and get busy folks!
Learned some new stuff at least to me with different systems. Try to add more tools to the toolbox

I like it good work. Your partner looks like she knows what she is doing. I can tell because she looks really relaxed and easy in her stance. It shows confidence but also shows ready to react. People don't realize this in fights of any kind that is easier to react if you’re calm and loose then rigid like a board.

She looks like she is doing a good job to.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and to the thread but I just wanted to say, "Yes. I do train in hand-to-hand combat." I'm only a first degree black sash. I train in Baguazhang and I am training predominantly for dem mak. I also train in knife fighting, swordmanship, machete usage and stick/cane fighting. I have a ways to go, but I'm getting there. I wish I had discovered the art in my childhood or early adulthood, but here I am in the summer of my life. Still, I say it is better to start wherever you are than to never start at all. I'm thankful for the opportunity to train.

Your never too old. One of the Judokas that used to come to our gym was 49 and could do cartwheels like they were going out of style. Had some sick throws too :)

We are conditioned in Amerika to think that once you hit 40 your life is over. Hell mines just beginning! Yeah I wished I had started earlier also, but I didn't and "it is what it is."

Keep on keeping on. Better health is a side benefit of this sort of thing also.

A while back, I recovered from a surgical procedure in just a couple weeks and was back on the mats. My physical terrorist, the doc and others all couldn't believe the things I could do just a couple days out of surgery. So quicker recovery times on injuries is another benefit of this sort of thing also.

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Thank you. Yeah, I agree. I'm in my mid forties and I can do lots of things that people half my age can't do. And when people find out my age, they get all freaked out like I shouldn't be fit as I am. Haha. I like what you say, "It is what it is." I have already been witness to the better health. It is pretty amazing.

                    Thanks, Matt.

I agree. It is never too late to learn and I'm very thankful to have found someone who knows his stuff to teach me. Rank and so forth isn't all that important. And, really my teacher doesn't care for them at all, but some of the people wanted to know "how they were doing" so a couple of the guys got together and did standardized levels just so they could have a measuring stick. I agree that I when it comes time to have someone at my side, someone who's "got my back" I want it to be someone who can fight and I don't mean just in some tournament either.

Anyhow, it's a pleasure to meet you.

This is tough stuff and some nights you walk away dragging and spend the night ice packed but having learned something it's worth the gain. These are not the typical Austin Powers judo chop self defense bravo sierra

Unfortunately, I work in a detention center so I get OJT most days. I'm only 5'7" and 160 lbs but I seem to hold my own. It seems the youngsters are getting bigger all the time but under-estimate us old guys. I try to be as quick as possible and not get hit cause I don't heal like I used to. ;)

I need more of this type of training. Sure I can set here in my "Command Post" typing away and say that I will just use a rifle from 300 yrds to deter any threats but... "Life" is conduct at arms length not at radio distance." Sure today I can buy anything I need online and not see one person but if anything happens we must conduct life face to face or more to this topic... we must conduct life at "Hand to Hand" distances.

LMAO No way.... I have been missing out all these years. That guy has crazy Ninjy skills. I never new I was doing a Judy Chop all wrong. I also never would of thought of using the Bachey Star, or maybe call it the "Skoal Star".

I have to go wipe away the tears now and go get his DVD's and practice.

Cuz Diemon Dave says," I could be doin a Judy choppin and Kungfuing kickin, an dare goes my leg. Cuz diere aint mucha callin for a one lagged ninjer out diere.

Also, "don't go Ninjin nobody don't need Ninjin".

Not only crazy skills, but is wise beyond years.

You mean fortunately you get to practice because you work in an environment that makes you situationaly aware and allows you to utilize H2H when needed so that even as you age you maintain skills most have to pay for LOL
