Found a couple of chewers in the tomato plants, so I sprayed again; otherwise, it's all still like I left it except for a big pile of dirt the fence contractor dug up for the new fence posts. I spotted five little green tomatoes on one plant!
Other than that, a zillion tiny cukes, some beets, and lots of squash flowers.
Enjoy your family. Time is always shorter than we think!

What fert do you use on your cukes and squash? Last year I had poor outcomes with them due to blossom rot....Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

I use Osmocote or Miracle Gro Shake-n-Feed for all my plants. The main culprit for squash blossom rot is soil pH and/or calcium deficiency. Try adding some lime if your soil is too acidic, and add garden calcium (Vigoro, Miracle Gro, or other). This should take care of the problem.
Another canning day with a little gardening thrown in. Nothing has changed except everything is wet from the rain.

I'll have a lot of cleaning up to do because the fence guy dug new holes for the fence posts, and piled it in the grow bag garden🙄 Now that it's pouring rain, the dirt has become a muddy stream running across my landscape fabric! Hopefully he'll be done Monday and we can start shoveling dirt to get the containers moved. The plants were looking droopy, but the rain perked them up! Spent the day doing laundry and packing the rest of the boxes I had, and just got a delivery of more boxes. I'm astounded at the volume of supplies I've put away...
I spied another tomato on a different plant, and another chewing critter on my eggplant leaves (zapped him!). I replanted more eggplant just in case the chewed one doesn't make it. I do use a lot of eggplant, so extra is no problem. There's a mystery seedling that should have been eggplant, but looks suspiciously like cucumber or squash.😯 Time will tell.

Yesterday's and last night's rains and wind were wicked! The wind has continued to blow hard enough that I pulled down the flag to keep it from flying away with the flagpole. I went out and looked at the garden, and noticed our neighbor's fence has broken away from the post and is leaning against my garden shed, probably from all the wind🤬 One of the boards is laying in the yard in front of my shed. Of course, there's no one home to tell about it, so I'll have to go out and prop up the fence with the fallen board.

Yeah, we had quite a bit of wind yesterday...all day and into the evening. At dusk I checked the garden and it seemed okay as I had staked more the day before...thank goodness....will check this morning....guests arrive today about noon, so need to get that done this morning....Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

Kids didn't come to help with the container move and don't know when they can. Tomorrow I'll start shoveling the container soil into the dump cart and see if I can do this by myself. I already shoved up 2 large piles of dirt from where the contractor dug holes for the 6x6 posts. In the meantime, the fence is done (beautiful and sturdy) and I locked both gates (north and south). Still chasing out a few destructive worms, this time from the beet greens. Brand new hose nozzle isn't working correctly, so tomorrow it goes back to the store for an exchange. I put the old one back on and got everything doused and moved out of the way for the containers. I spied a cuke that's about 4" long already and lots of little ones.😁 Drove the lawn mower back to the garage - may as well get used to driving it because my husband isn't going to be able to mow much longer...

We have 3 little cukes showing....everything else seems to be progressing well. The beans have flowers popping up, the potatoes and sweet potatoes look great. Tomatoes are getting bigger and so far no fungus...we will see what today brings...Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

One large container emptied, moved, and refilled; one down, seven to go. I left the lawn mower and dump cart next to the container garden so it will be ready for tomorrow. Couple of cukes showing promise plus lots of tiny ones. Shoveling dirt is not for the faint of heart😂😂 I got a late start due to making a Home Depot run for drain cleaner, but tomorrow I'll start earlier and try to get at least two more moved. I'm going to have to stack four of the smaller containers to make room for them, and will likely have one that won't fit😢I'll find a spot for it elsewhere. Just returned the nozzles because my husband had one hidden away in a drawer; the credit for the nozzles almost covered the cost of the four containers of drain cleaner $. Neighbor is leaving for California for nephew's Marine Corps graduation, but said he'll help me shovel if I'm not done with it yet. I can guarantee him I won't be done!

Whirlwind here yesterday....had to repair/replace a heating element in our Incinolet toilet in our tiny home....looking at the instructions I figured 15-20 minutes as I have had to repair things in it before and understand the quirks of getting into it. However, this kicked my @$$ and took me 1.5 hours and a bit of foul language. Heating element is in a spring shape, and each ring slides into a rest area to keep coil apart...one cannot see these "rests" and so it is like pulling a spring apart and try and guess/feel where each rest is, and then hold it there when you have to do the rest of the coils....I had to sit back, and say to myself, you have all afternoon, so take your time....will hope that my cukes are looking as good as yours...Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

Having to stop what you want to do and taking time to do what pops up that needs to be done can be frustrating. I have no doubt that, if that problem happens again, it will take the 15-20 minutes you thought in the first place. 👍
Shoveled all morning (after a VA teleconference), then moved large container Forum of 2 and got the dirt back in it. The dump cart doesn't hold enough dirt to completely empty the large containers, but I'll catch the rest of it tomorrow and get after the smaller containers. Correction: I have six small containers to move but I think I can make room to stack three pairs of them. I won't have as much planting room as I had with two gardens, but it's going to have to do. I had to move the greenhouse rack and some grow bags to the A/C side of the yard and Darth Vader the compost tumbler is hanging out in space waiting for a new home. The new fence gate is wider than than the old one, so I'm losing some space there as well. One more shower, a load of laundry, and dinner took up the rest of the day. Lots more tomatoes now. The grow bags will be rearranged once I have the rest of the containers moved in. I'm having to water every day due to the sunshine and low humidity.

Lots of rain overnight = No shoveling today
It rained on and off all day. We need the rain so no complaints here; I took the opportunity to mop floors and dolly some heavy large boxes out to the garage. The plants look happy with the rain, and I was happy to not shovel! Tomorrow should be dry and sunny, and I'll be at it again. Stacking containers won't work☹️, as there's no bottom bracket on the small containers, so one is already in the bag garden, two of them will move to the bag garden, two will go out where my tropical bed was (there's a sprinkler head there), and one of them will go behind the shed to wait for fall planting. Is it enough room? No, but it's what I'm going to have for my summer garden. We're going to get a new storage shed to replace the existing one behind the bag garden; the new one will go where the old tropical bed was. Then I'll have double the space I have now for planting, and the old rusty metal eyesore of a shed will get hauled off.
