Your thoughts on the election period

As an IT guy...the Election could be swindle proof. With encryption, certificates, etc. you could do it online and have the results be 99% effective out the gate. and that is much better than we can expect next tuesday.

Having worked in the Insurance and Hospital industry, there are SEVERAL security/audit scenarios out there that are MUCH more secure than what the elections are using. This is one example of why I don't like the government much. There's a right way, wrong way and the government way. The governments' way is usually the wrong way that costs the most. This is a generalism....there are pockets that don't match the way I think about it. The sad part is that the rank and file of government workers usually try to do the right thing.

The electoral college also serves to quarantine vote fraud. For example, Illinois is going to Obama, period. All the additional imaginary votes ginned up in chicago won't add anything more to his column on Nov 6th.

Imagine a very close election like Florida inb 2000. Now every vote, everywhere, would have to be challenged if we went with a national direct vote.

All Talk, I'm asking sincerely....why would every individual vote have to be challenged? If that's the case, why hasn't every individual vote been challenged in the past?
