I agree with this 100%. I also think it'll be over a week before we know for sure. Even if O wins, there may be celebratory riots. Bearman I agree with what you're saying and would only add that the timing is almost impossible to predict. I made some timetable predictions when BO first took office that took longer than I thought to manifest themselves. My mistake was not taking into account the various dynamics of the issues, both individually and in concert with each other. Collapse, when it eventually happens, will be dictated by who wins, how the middle east is handled over the next 6 months, what the European union does to stop their economic decline (or not), when the next terrorist attack on U.S. soil is, if China attacks Japan, when Israel (or the U.S.)attacks Iran's nuclear facilities, and on and on and on. Having said that, I do think that if BO wins collapse will happen within the first two years of his second term. That's based on all I see happening around us nationally and internationally, and on his agenda that should be obvious to anyone who has learned much about BO. I'd like to think that if Romney wins we might avoid complete collapse and that depression might be put off for some time but there has been so much damage done to the economy and other countries are in so much trouble (add the escalating threat of another terrorist attack-not if but when) that I'm not so sure anymore.
I think the best bet is to simply continue prepping as much as possible. I know some here have mentioned prioritizing according to what you think is most important as far as natural disaster, economic collapse, geographics, etc...and I agree with that. Patriot Lady and I are prepping for an economy in depression and since we don't know the timing we're simply prioritizing as far as what would be the first things to disappear when it happens that we won't be able to get, buying now to beat inflation, etc....Of course all of this will vary with everyone's differing situations and locations. I'm sure now that it's when and not if the economy collapses so we're pushing ourselves.

It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

I'm not so worried about riots in the case of a Romney win; there might be some in the large cities but nothing organized. I'm more concerned with the possibility of Obummer using his 'executive orders' during his lame duck period to make drastic moves within the .gov and making a lot of last minute appointments and ..... Don't forget all the pardons Clinton did on his last few days, I get a bit queasy when I think of the people that might be set free before he steps down.

There's not enough of us left who care and who really know what's going on 556X45. The corruption is so vast in our gov't. and the ignorance is growing so fast among the voters I just don't see any hope of meaningful improvement. I was doing more reading on Agenda 21 this morning and when you start studying the legislation, how fast it's spread across the nation and how many hundreds of millions of dollars per year are being fed into it, it makes me want to crawl into my BOL and not come out. Patriotic Sheepdog just ruined my day. I have been watching this election super close and then he drops the hammer and makes all that time spent researching now bogus. The UN will monitor, and most assuredly find widespread voter fraud from the right, disregarding the black panthers that will intimidate voters again this year. I can come up with about a dozen scenarios where this turns out really bad, and cant see any type of silver lining here. Nothing good there for sure.
As for the election, I think it will be like the Travon Martin case in FL. It was a hot button for a while and now I hear next to nothing about it. While this is huge, it will be many recounts and hearings, etc before they announce a winner. That way the public will have time to let the endorphins and adrenaline die out. I think there will still be riots in major cities, either way.
I work as an IT guy, in a facility manned by mostly low income whites and blacks. I have an office tucked back in a corner, but after hours voices carry. I have heard both sides talking about...if "so in so" doesnt get in it is gonna be on. This is Statesville NC, population 25,000, about 45 miles north of Charlotte. This one lady was talking about her husband that is a barber at a black barbershop. She was telling her friends that everybody in the barbershop was gonna turn NC red if they voted red. On that same note, I listened to 2 brothers (no not slang, two white guys from the same mother :) )down the hall, saying the exact opposite. If obama wins, etc...or if Romney wins and "they" want to act a fool bring it on!
People can say that race isnt an issue in this country anymore, but that is so far from the truth. 15 years ago, when I was in the Marines, I was out in Jacksonville, NC drinking it up and partying like a rock star. When myself and 3 others returned to our barracks it was on lockdown like I had never seen before. Seems some people from HQ co and Delta co had gotten into a fight. about 15 people fighting because someone wouldnt turn down some music. Now this was Company vs Company over music, and only about 15 people involved. Some Redneck yells,"f'n N-word" and then it becomes over 100 people fighting black vs white regardless of company. Absolute pandemonium with one word. We paid dearly as a battalion for a couple of months, but it was a lesson I will never forget. While the motivating factor was probably too much alcohol, the underlying theme was social unrest just waiting to be triggered.
Another example, I am on a 5-ton in 29 palms california wearing a roadguard vest, helmet, and carrying a magazine-less rifle about to embark to LA because of the riots after the rodney king hearings. Thank goodness it got under control before we got there, but in Charlotte NC, a now friend was part of a reserve unit that had 2 awol Marines. It was determined that they had decided to drive to LA and "get them some!" They had actually made it to Arizona when everything got calmed down, but I wonder how many other good ole boys were on their way to do the same thing. Those two couldnt have been the only racists that were thinking that they could use the mayhem as cover to kill blacks. It was shocking to hear that.
Anyway, my suggestion is for everyone to hunker down for a little bit after the election. My family and I are heading to our "hunting cabin" for a little bow hunting and rest and relaxation for a few days. It wouldnt be a bad idea for all of us folks to do something similar.

Mitt came on like a straight up Mike Tyson versus Michael Spinks in the first debate but settled down into more of a trading blow for blow in the second and third debates. Overall, I thought the first was a no contest TKO from his perspective. The second was more of a draw from both accounts. The third...didn't get a lot of good feelings. Having said that and as I discussed last night, foreign policy isn't as relevant so to speak to the public this election. It's important yes, but Joe Q Public isn't really focusing on that like they might have in 2004 and 2008. This time it's the economy and this is the arena where Romney shines. And where he shined in the debate last night by hammering home the fact the economy is worse today than it was four years ago. On these points he won. As for for agreeing with a lot of the items...I can see that to an extent. Drone strikes for example. They work and why mess up a good thing? So why disagree with the POTUS on something that's working for a change? As for Israel, I don't trust POTUS as far as I could throw him (provided the Secret Service would never let me attempt that) since he already has shunned our only reliable ally and true democracy in the Middle East and continually throws them under the bus by encouraging them to use the 1967 borders as beginnings for negotiations. Sorry Charlie, I ain't buying it. And the fact he still has a good majority of the Jewish vote baffles the life out of me.
Overall, I can see Romney as more Presidential as many are saying. And putting aside the feelings of detest for the current occupant, I've just never seen him as "presidential" by any means. Mitt looks like someone I can trust, like an accountant I'm trusting my family fortune to (in more ways than one). I'm trusting my life and the life of my country to him at this point. Or better yet the soul of our country. Big O just looks like the kind of guy trying to sell me cheaper insurance rates with all sorts of hidden clauses. Lots of fine print you didn't see until after you signed the policy. Or more like a rock star as they keep treating him. And the media is ignoring the fact he has made no promises, none whatsoever except for the potential for a new assault weapons ban. He's held no press conferences, no interviews and answered no tough questions about what direction he wants to take the country except for "forward." While Romney hasn't been the greatest detailing his plans, he has plans and the continual campaign slogan of "I'm going to reach across the aisle and work this out" somewhat holds promise. To me, that's a "remains to be seen and how well we can work this out" plan that's generally a smart move. Now, the same thing was said in 2008 with "bipartisanship" and "transparent government" by someone else, but this time I can believe it since the track record shows Romney's done it before. But the press keeps on ignoring that. They should be demanding interviews, press conferences and asking the hardball questions to Obama, but the media bias has killed actual news reporting in this country and focused in on attempting to sway the vote by selected sound bites and comments taken completely out of context.
Let's face it, with the exception of Fox News, the major networks have tried everything in their power to destroy Romney. But he keeps bouncing back. And the latest stupid nonsense of making issues of "binders full of women" and bayonets just reeks of desperation from the MSM part. I mean, seriously? Can't find anything else worth reporting so we are focusing in on a mis-wording of a comment which Romney was pointing to the fact he had more women in his cabinet than any other governor in his state? And as for the military not asking for more money? That's a laugh. We always need more money. I'm fairly certain the Navy would like a bigger budget and more ships no matter what the President says. It's easy to say "they didn't request it" when the fact is the budget is not allowing us to fund new ships...barely helping us fund day to day operations. Of course the squeaky wheel gets the grease and none of the Joint Chiefs are willing to go out and ask for more money in a time when they know it's politically unpopular to do so. And besides the fact some of the services are fairly good at wasting money as we've all seen. Anyway...
There never was much of a contest in my mind even though the candidate I had in mind didn't go far. But I've placed my faith in the system once again and "hope" for "change" from a different perspective. Romney knows how to run a successful business, knows how to balance a budget, knows how to reach across the aisle... And frankly, we need someone who knows these things and will not continue piling up one trillion plus in debt every year. Who won't continue to shun our strongest allies in a volatile region in a vain attempt to garner favor with predominate Islamic countries that historically use us for their own ends and stab us in the back when they can. Who won't continue to infringe on our rights. Will play hardball with our trading partners, namely China. Will bring a budget under balance. Will make an attempt at bipartisanship since again, historically he has before. And bring back prosperity to our nation.
Mitt's no Ronald Reagan, but from what I've seen, he's what our country needs right now. We can't handle four more years of neglect from the rock star while he takes more trips overseas trying to get the Olympics in Chicago (as if that is a good idea...marathon running through the South Side. Yeah, smart) or shopping trips or golf dates or generally getting treated with kid gloves like he has for the past four years. We need leadership and frankly, he had his chance. If you haven't done it in four years, you ain't gonna do it in eight. Time to move on (no pun intended) and give the opportunity for someone else to shine.
Vote folks, it's our soul on the line.Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.
