Now I generally get called names all the time, comes with the job. I'm used to it and really, doesn't bother me in the least. However, if you feel like you can do it to me in public and in front of everyone, you will probably do it to others. And while I can handle your childish remarks, others don't need to put up with that nonsense. Hence, bad precedent to set for everyone concerned since behavior like yours tends to rear its ugly head again and again.

If you feel like I slighted you by deleting your posts, I'll be more than happy to restore them and the whole forum can see your remarks. I'm not sure you want to go down that road though...

He won't be back. I banned him. as an FYI to everyone I banned him for cursing out another member. That behavior is not tolerated here. It doesn't matter who the member is or what their status is. i do not do this often, nor has it been necessary either. last time i canned someone for something other than spam was nearly a year ago.

        Good call Grand and Spock.

Sorry I was out most of the day today taking care of some bid'ness. Looks like you all did also ;)

Something tells me this won't be the last we hear of the "evil republicans that want little old ladies to eat Alpo during retirement" talk this ELECTION year.

God bless our military. Had a chance not too long ago to train and fight with some hard charging young men in uniform. I made it a point to tell each of them two things- Thanks and God Bless them. Two simple things we can do and we should mean. I'm not big on those that disparge our military in case you couldn't tell. I do NOT love our gubmint, but I do love our guys and gals in uniform. We need to remember their IS a difference between the gubmint and the military.

I guess that will give them an excuse to raise prices to a $51.00 minimum for everything....

            ok,
so there's an update to the Jax incident:

Apparently, the Jax incident was initiated when police broke up a house party right around the corner, and the Wal-Mart in "north west Jax" was at Lem Turner rd. Those who know Jax roll their eyes.

Option 1 is utilize something similar to the spear method and with my other members in tow holding onto the beltline working my way to the nearest exit (think windows, emergency exits too) all the while being prepared for a face to face distance confrontation which doesnt mean the firearm will always come into play as we learned on one of our weekend sessions with distance and manuevering.
Option 2 is to find a place to hole up and just defend, like the bathroom or cleaning supply isle, if needed until they all disappear which is usually a short time later after they steal their share of ho-hos, electronic whizbangs and just create chaos because they are unable to create positive things in their meaningless little loveless lives.

I've practiced the whole CQC in the cleaning aisles bit:

You can't beat Stanley Spadowski on a mop!
It also helps to have a closet full of "Supplies".

                    In all seriousness,
I tell you now a true story from Jacksonville:
Once, When I was in the 7th grade, the power went out in Downtown Jax during a Thunderstorm. It was art class, the last of the day for me, and I was studying perspective and whatnot. Immediate I deployed my tactically camouflaged mini-maglite given as a Christmas gift from my parents. I thought I was so cool.
                    Bad move.
Public Screwl policy in the late 80's and early 90's Duval county was jacked up to say the least. I no lie, went to 4 different schools in 4 years. Desegregation was a bear. They didn't just ship the ghetto kids to the 'burbs, they shipped the 'burb kids to the Ghetto too. I went to "Eugene Butler 7th Grade Center" that's right, the whole screwl was nothing but 7th graders. There were 7th graders at this school from the local 'hood, and some of them were, shall we say, 'well seasoned' 7th graders, who had multiple years of professional experience with the administration. Usually there was a gang of 5-10 that roamed the halls, headed up by a guy jovially referred to as 'Big Sean'.
'Big Sean' and his gang of locals happened to be walking by when my flashlight came on, in an instant, I was surrounded, punched at least 5 times, and my flashlight was gone!
I was angry, and when I ran out the door to give chase (it's the Welsh in me what has to fight!), they were gone! Wow! I was resigned to a life without a flashlight.
Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. My art teacher (who I am pretty sure bought 'stuff' from Big Sean) managed to return my flashlight to me! I learned an important lesson that day. Preparation is easy, but it's easier to be out-numbered than prepared.

Just cause it was on the top of my head the only city i have heard of cutting pay to fire and police was Scranton. this is the Major that thought it was a good idea.

For a long time DA's have decided not to prosecute people for minor shop lifting. When I worked retail years ago it was something us management knew but tried not to share. I'm not surprised the police don't want there time wasted going to a store when the DA wont file charges anyways. After all they need to "tax" (write tickets) to people who actually have money to justify their existence. It's sad but I pretty much only trust sheriffs departments now.
