In addition to the forums the public can view, their are a few areas that are viewable and available ONLY to Members of the site here. These include

*A Site Members subforum wherein SurvivalandPreparedness training videos are posted regularly. In addition many knowledgeable folks from the forums post their own videos and share information there because it's not viewable to "lurkers." You will need a minimum post count of 20 to view this subforum and the training videos. Often times also, additional shows of The Survival Report podcast will be posted in this subforum also. These are in addition to the weekly shows that are available to the public.

*A survival fiction subforum titled "Survival Shorts." We made this section viewable only to site members a few months back. It has NO minimum post count but if you are not a site member and logged on, it will not even show up on the list of forums. In here you will find survival fiction stories both old and new, finished and in progress including works such as "Second Chance", "Lucky" and other popular works of fiction.

*A barter/for sale and trade board. This also is available only to Members of the forums. A minimum post count of 30 is necessary to view and use this subforum in order to keep down spammers and would be profiteers here only for the chance to promote themselves.

Some general information including some commonsense stuff that's required of you on the forums-

*Watch the language, inferences, etc. Kids and gals post and view here also. Damn and hell are o.k. but let's keep it from going much further than that. If a word comes out with ***** it means it's in the language filter. It's there for a reason. Keep it PG13.

*If you want to advertise your website, store, blog, product, etc, contact 1admin FIRST. If you just start posting your website you will be considered a spammer. Spammers are automatically shown the internet version of "Law 8" and are permanently banned. Make sure you understand this....

*Behave yourself. We only have one type of ban -permanent. We don't do "time out" type bans and we can't and won't warn you 27 times. Treat site staff with respect, they are doing a job for next to Free and I don't expect them to put up with anyone's crap. ALL of them are very fair people.

NO ONE gets banned at the drop of a hat here. NO ONE gets banned for disagreeing with a mod. NO ONE gets banned for not posting here.

People get banned here essentially just for two reasons- being dumbbutts and/or spamming. Again, all bans are permanent so please think before you call someone names or act like a child.

*We do NOT promote the entitlement mentality here. Although the site is FREE to read and use, we expect you to show responsibility in your actions and postings. If you come here regularly and get a lot of free information, we expect you to support the site. In short, if you "eat" here regularly, we expect you to help clean up the kitchen. What does that mean? Support the site either via the "donate" button at the top right hand side of the page or purchase items from site Advertisers and make sure you tell them you heard about them on S and P.

*Some areas may have specific rules also- know them. For example the "Survival Shorts" fiction section does NOT require you to post but does require you to be a member to read the stories there. Further it's expected that you NOT hound the authors for "more more" and act like a spoiled child. We have NO tolerance for the entitlement mentality here. No one here "owes" you anything. Remember that.

*While we do allow some political discussions, this is not the main focus of the forums here. While the occasional "rant" about the gubmint is acceptable, we want to avoid focusing on the PROBLEM and focus more on SOLUTIONS.

*This is a PRIVATE FORUM and as such it's important to use tact, show respect and be courteous to others. This is not your home, this is my home. Use common sense and the "golden rule" (do unto others) and you won't have a problem here. Do otherwise and you'll be shown the door, period. You have no "rights" here.

*This site is owned by a conservative Christian survivalist that is strong on family values, good character and responsibility. While I appreciate and enjoy a good debate, intentional trouble making won't be tolerated.

All new registrations have been "moderated" for a while now. That means you cannot register and INSTANTLY be posting. This is to cut down on spammers.

Be patient, it may be a day or so after you register that you get the confirmation. This is to cut down on spammers.

So we get a few emails from people that tried to register but got an error message.

Let's be clear- there are no "requirements" for membership. If you got an email saying you "didn't meet the requirements" for registering understand that's a VBulletin board FORM LETTER type deal, not anything the staff here wrote especially to you....

But think people- if you register a username that sounds like a spammer or if we have had a pile of spammers from the IP you are registering from, their is a good chance your registration will be declined. Just send us an email and we will try to clear it up as time permits. Keep in mind we are providing a FREE SERVICE here on the forums, so you may not get a response in 3.7 seconds... That's life.

We are being and will remain very PROACTIVE in the interdiction of and preemptive action against spammers.

Most of ASIA remains BLOCKED because of the 20-30+ spammers we were getting DAILY from Asia. Unfortunately it seems SOME IP's in Australia are routed through Asia.

Folks also note that we do not have access to your password. If you forgot your password you'll have to use the "lost password" function where you log in at. I.e, getting your password is not something we can even help you with.

Also, re: inquires and emails-

Please MAKE SURE if your asking a technical question that involves your specific account, that you WRITE OUT your username. We don't have psychic powers and it doesn't just "pop up" when you email. We keep EVERYTHING we can sterile as far as the forums go.

You'd be surprised how many emails we get that are like this- "hey this is Ted from the forums, I need help doing such and such.." And of course when we look, their is no one with a username of "Ted."

We are happy to help where we can, but you have to do your part and get us what we need to help you with a technical issue.

It's when a site system will automatically delete users that have been on the site for a certain amount of time, but in that time has not made ANY posts.

If your post count number next to your name shows ANY number other than zero, this DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU.

However if you have NEVER POSTED ANYTHING to the forums here, a "lurker" with zero post count then this most definitely applies to you.

Working through the upgrades to the VB software, we were again reminded that -like all forums- we have great "numbers" but a significantly smaller number of PARTICIPANTS.

So we are going to give you plenty of time to make a simple intro post- "Hi I'm Joe Joe" (that's really hard huh?) but before too long, we are going to prune. The "prune" will effectively delete ANY USER WITH A ZERO POST COUNT.

WHEN some cry baby emails me complaining after the fact, I'm just going to link to this thread.

You have NOTICE now, make it happen.
