What brand is the falshlight?Originally posted by SCinPNW View PostI will be getting some merino wool long underwear and some emergency flashlights that plug into the wall and work as night lights as well. When the power goes out, the lights come on and you can grab them and use them as flashlights.
Love merino wool, got some Omni Wool socks (merino) from Sam's for 1/2 the list price on other sites ($15 instead of $30 for 3 pair). Buying 2 pairs just about paid for the membership this year."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

The Lord makes Himself real to us in different ways. I don't care what someone might tell me or try to indoctrinate me, He (God) has kept me alive and safe despite a lot of stupid things I've done, stupid places I've went and stupid things I've done. I have felt His hand protecting me. I know He has kept me alive despite myself and others. Most importantly, I know He loves me, He sent His Son to die for me and I am totally completely undeserving of such love. He loves you also Computerguy.Originally posted by ComputerGuy View PostAlso I think we have the best present this year and many more years to come. Our son was involved in an automobile accident Tuesday. He is very lucky to be alive. He was driving with 2 children when a SUV T-boned him at 70mph. The children walked away with no injuries, the RMTs were sure he was a fatality. He was released from the hospital yesterday evening. Boken ribs, broken sternum, facial lacerations, and head trauma. He is still in a lot of pain, but is here at home.
I really don't believe in God, I think maybe something is trying to nudge me in that direction.
Praise the Lord everyone lived through it, we'll be praying for your son. Merry Christmas.www.homesteadingandsurvival.com

That's an undeniable a blessing from God. He was watching out for your son as well as sending a message directly to YOU!
Christmas is really about the greatest gift that God gave to us (His Son) and yet here he has given you yet another wonderful gift. That's so AWESOME!!!

Got this new pack for the BOB. Now I dont have to use my 4000ci backpacking pack for the BOB nor my daypack bookbag anymore. I will be using this A LOT next summer backpacking, it will only hold what I need and will limit me as well. Seems comfy and has a pouch for the bladder with straw holes. Fits perfect in the back of the Trooper.
Also, got a new Jungle Boonie, some "jungle" face paint, a BOB complete sewing kit, 2 AWESOME hand held chainsaws (pics later) these work AWESOME as I cut two 4 inch thick saplings today,, both in less than a minute, 100 rounds of .40, and a new S&W 'tacticool" pocket knife (in which I really need for work).
Its cool when the fam knows what I am in to and gives me stuff like this during "gift sessions".You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

I never realized how many people opened presents on the 24th.
We used to as kids and it was fun.... but then we all sat around on the 25th looking at each other with blank looks.
We will sometimes open 1 Christmas Eve, but we didn't this year. Instead we reloaded magazines from shooting this afternoon and finished watching The Gospel of John and then "Warlords of the 21st Century." Good Christmas combo :)Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"
Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

That's the best post I have read on here EVER! Prepping involves a lot more than buying up stuff. I have walked away from car wrecks after the EMT's couldn't get a pulse for over 5 mins. It's all because of Jesus I'm alive.Originally posted by Lowdown3 View PostThe Lord makes Himself real to us in different ways. LD3, we go to my fams on 24th, the inlaws on the 25th. Kids got so much stuff it looks like a swap meet.
I curse China for making this "operation" so difficult tonight. Next year its good ole fashion American Made toys like a stick, a pine cone and a rock....:PYou know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Since my parents are divorced we have 3 or 4 family Christmas's to go to. We do my dad's side Christmas Eve, my mom and my in laws Christmas day, and Dad (if he wasn't able to be with us on Eve) when he is able to make it up. Currently on my Dad's side there are 4 Generations so it is pretty cool."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

You know, that's the reason they created gift bags. For lazy wrappers like yourself and horrid wrappers like me lol.Originally posted by Lowdown3 View PostThen I got the old "you really ought to put more effort into this" guilt trip so I had to start wrapping myself.
Their is a stack of Priority mail boxes with presents in them. I finally wrapped all of them. On one I took almost a whole bag of stick on bows and put them one next to another all over the top of the box, LOL but it actually came out real pretty :) I should have realized it would have been less effort to simply wrap the box...
Merry Christmas everyone.
Don't know exactly what I have yet, but I have family out here in OK, so I'm assuming I'm probably going to end up getting a bunch of hand tools. Even those I might only "need just once or twice" and "just in case." Got some things to do around the house and my father will probably end up finding holes in my collection.Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

I came out with a new Benchmade 915 triage, a Boker CopTool, and a wireless weather station with solar powered instruments. I've got a line on some Rohn tower but it'll have to wait until spring to put in.
I bought my daughter her first knife and she spent the entire day carrying it.
My gf and I are splitting a new exercise bike with the hopes of at least getting into the shape we were 7 years ago.
