I was referring specifically to this test and not "most" as you say. If you get a chance, watch it first and then provide your thoughts.

wasn't it obvious? I mean anyone with more than 3 brain cells to rattle around in their skull could see it. how many times did he tape the muzzle on that rifle?

So are you now resorting to insults toward me? Yeah he taped it but I don't recall him trying to hide that fact either.

Ugh i think yer reading more into my last post than whats there. I wasn't trying to sling an insult at you. the test was rigged. he tapped the muzzle, dug into some soft moist clining sand at one point shoveled it over the rifle and when the rifle worked said it passed. I on the other hand pulled the top cover off a sar-2 reached into the bottom of a mud puddle at a local range brought up a hand full of sand and gravel (and 1 spent 22 lr case) threw it into the action and then ran a 30 round mag like that. when i cleaned that rifle that night i found a stone stuck inside the recoil spring assembly.

but i'm not shilling for century arms and pretending like its an infomative tv show.

Larry tried to simulate various feild conditions yet everyone of them involved the dust cover closed the muzzle taped. if you wanna simulate a real "oh crap" field situation GO OUT IN THE FIELD shoot the rifle and crew around in the mud much sand etc with it and shoot while you are doing it.

I've seen a MUCH better "test" than Larry's done but a guy out in AZ who shovled dry loose sand and gravel over an AR with the dust cover open AND closed and no muzzle taping. that rifle btw worked also but it was a CMMG and not a Daniel Defense.

here is the video for all to watch:

here is a bit more realistic torture test:

dust cover was open and thats DRY sand. I live on a gigantic sand spit called "Florida" there is a huge diffrence between moist clingly sand and dry sand. dry sand gets every where and into everything. wet stuff can be shaken off.

Guys, I'm closing this thread. It's going no where. Everyone has stated their points/beliefs, some have stated their experience with both platforms.

IME, most people won't change their mind until ANY weapon fails on them badly. They'll play off, downplay or rationalize a small failure but one day if they use it hard enough, they will either come to trust it implicitly or not trust it at all. Most folks will never take it that far and are scared to "abuse" (in their eyes) a high dollar item that honestly most view more as an "investment" than a TOOL FOR THEIR FAMILIES SURVIVAL.

            Thread is closed.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"
