Just about removed my eyebrows. probably should have held it over the actual valve or dropped it and ran for cover.
Lesson learned lol

i wont say who..but this really cool tip of the spear guy was working on rebuilding a mid 70's colman lantern ....used some paper towels to soak up about 1 liters worth of white gas.....then set them in a fire pit an lit it.........no eyebrows were harmed though from what i was told.....Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Interesting side note. Did you know that hydrogen is both colorless and odorless?? Its literally impossible to tell if a clear glass container is full of it or not. Apparently sticking a match over it to find out if there is any in it, isnt the best method......or so I'm told.....

garden.
well we did well on lettece this go around. I got loads of carrots that will be ready for harvest soon i hope with twice as many staggered for weeks/months after.
What i mean is ill plant some stuff,,then wait to plant more, this way i have stuff constantly growing.
got some different lettces and spinach growing now, and a few cabbages.
stray cats...i hate them..especially when ones in heat and they all thing my front porch is their hang iut?? out of all the places they picked mine. A quick search and destroy mission at o-dark 30 broke up that kitty love fast real quick....aint seen the cats in 3 days...now that i jinxed myself.
getting the humidity issue under control in an old home. I dont like to run electric stuff, but it seems a dehumidifier is a must. The weather here is in the 40's one day then 78 the next. So its a battle.Doesnt seem like a major problem, but some of my nylon especially stuff thats been used aka has sweat and dirt on it,,tends to start to "grow" LOL. ive got some of this issue under wraps right now, buti know my electric bill will be going up. Again this all falls under the "older" home deal. Lack of good windows, propper insulation etc. All junk that will need to be taken care of down the road.
trying to prioritize what projects are needed to be completed when and how much. Your brain goes yip,be nice to add that rock graden near a water feature LOL verse getting the well going type choices. New/add more fence to secure the wooded areas, or rebuild/demo the shed...add fireplace or a small AE system,,,what about that outdoor oven....,,Guess thats where the "survivalist" side of me conflicts with the home owner side of me.
ive done some small stuff like repaint some cabinets/new hardware to make the wife unit happy lol
just a small update.....im sure once it warms up ill have more to followHey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

update:
got our garden expanded, and planted. already have some stuff growing and harvesting from Decembers planting. trying to see if our old seeds produce. i have a ton from 2008......we'll see.
now im working a 6ft by est. 14-16 ft plot and a second 6x8.
gives me 4 good sized rows with 6-8 inches between my mounds.
worked in part of our compost heap and tried to be more organized this time around with my lay out.
almost bought a pig at the farmers market....almost. all i kept seeing was this nice plump 40-50lbr roasting on my grill lol.
found out once you have dirt, earth worms and a 6 yr old they all of a sudden dont mind being dirty lolHey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

well carrots we planted atthe start have been harvested ( 90% of them) maybe a 2 gallon bukcets worth or small ones. I have mutated carrots LOL. They range from 2-4 inches long to looking like tennis balls . but tatse great.
the lettuce plants have done well, when we expanded i planted more. But with the three plants we had i couldnt keep up ( eating a salad every day).
spinach did well, had some pest issues (those small green worms that eat em up).
already harvested our second go at radishes and replanted new ones.
Cabbage plants are almost 18-20 inches wide and big cant wait.
Have more spinach, lettuce, collards, peas, radishes, okra and zuccuni going.
Made a 4x4 raised herb/spice bed, tyransplanted some oinions, got cilantro, thyme, basil, jalpenos, habermeros, chives, and another pepper going.
Got some taters going as well s experiments.
got a new addition to thehousehold a assuie shepered,,,she's been doing great ( resuce dog) and is very protective of her new home and family. She loves water hose play and does very well with commands...could have done a ton worse.
Just wanted to do an update ill get some pictures up soon to add to this thread.Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!
