Although I will be deer hunting when it airs I am going to record it and watch it later."One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

It's rough country. Shots can range from 50 to 400+ yards. Met a good ol' boy from Tennessee at meat processor. He was underwhelmed by the spike he shot and all of the hard country he had to cover to get it.Originally posted by Matt In Oklahoma View PostAwesome! Then all you will need is a comfortable pair of rugged boots, good glass (binos & spotting scope), and leather gloves. If you ever get out this way let me know.Originally posted by Matt In Oklahoma View PostThose shots I'm already doing here in western okla so no issue there
Oh, and water.... lots and lots of water..... we are in a desert after all."One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? Ok so I watched this last night and while a lot of people probably liked it I myself did not.
It was two hours that I could have spent on something productive like combing my beard or picking lint out of my belly button. ;)
The worst part is knowing I can never get those two hours of my life back.

Mostly I was bored stiff.
Maybe it will be usefull in that it will get some sheep off their butts.
It did have popups that gave factoids on how unprepared the electrical grid is and how much our society depends on electricity.
It also hits home on how quickly civilization breaks down.
The guy that was the prepper was kinda made to be a boob.
You'll have plenty of times to get to see it as I'm sure Natgeo will rerun it many times.
I won't be watching any of it again.

I only got through about an hour of it before I was so bored I turned it off. It was recording so I may watch the rest later. While did point out just how fast things will get bad, much of it was just stupid - Oops, the electric locks won't work, now I'm locked out, or the powers been off for three days so I'll just stop at the ATM to get some cash. Yeah I know there really are people that stupid out there, I just don't want to believe there are that many of them. - - - I may need lots more ammo. Overall, if you weren't a prepper, it was probably OK, but if you've thought about it at all, the show just didn't make the grade.

I made it through about 20 minutes and then went to bed had to get up early to go elk hunting. I didn't like the docudrama format. I kept saying if the power is out how are they broadcasting the news. I didn't see any useful information being passed along.
BTW didn't see any elk today.Survival question. What do I need most, right now?
