  • PT sucks

 CRAP, am I stiff and sore. I have just started my work out, was running a bit then I hit gym Thursday.

Physical Fitness/training is a bear. I have been lying to myself for a few years now... "I walk wonder mutt 2 miles every night, I'm good." I do a lot of physical activity for work... in the heat of Florida, I'm good." etc. etc.

    :eek::eek::eek: I'm NOT GOOD!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

If anyone else is out there thinking on the lines I was, please get out there and do something... see what shape you really are in.

I'm stiff sore and miserable, No Pain...No Gain as we used to say. I know in the end its all there for my betterment weather health, stamina, shape, and survival.

Hope this get through to someone, I know I never wanted to hear it... " I was Good"!!!

It will get better, just don't stop.

The problem with PT is that people either:

    1. Never get started.
    2. When they do get started after long periods of inactivity they go way too hard, hurt themselves and then are out of it for a while.
    3. Never stick with it long enough to you get to the point where it's easy to "maintain" after a while.

hardest part about working out is getting started, then staying with it. The workouts will get harder, but it becomes easier if that makes any sense. Hang in there.....and, see ya monday

One full week back in the game. Still going. One side effect???... of getting back in shape/working out is that I suffered from insomnia waking every hour etc. Still a bit hard to fall asleep but once I do I sleep (pass out?) the remainder of the night now.

Another thing I am changing my mind on, is when someone asks me "Where to start Prepping at..." Food? Guns? water? Medical? nope the new number one thing out of my mouth will be physical fitness. This will depend on the person asking, but most who ask me have been out of shape like me.
If you cant lug that gear, or sprint out of harms way, etc. its for not.

Gotta work out three hours before bed iirc.
Or its just you burning off extra sugars/protiens keeping you wired.
Go low carb for a few days and see if it levels out.
              Drink tons of water.

I ran this am...first since my lil ouchy few weeks back.
Figured id have done worse. Bpm /bp and recovry rates were good..but i didnt try to kill myself....thats for friday lol

              Keep it up robert..good job.

Just remember, one just needs to be in good general shape. You're not getting ready to start Ranger School or BUDs. Its just as easy to get wrapped around the axle on fitness as it is any and every other aspect of being prepared. Balance is key.

Might be the last of the adrenaline burning off Robert. Seriously. Some nights we train late and it's been a pretty intense session, it keeps me up a little bit more.

Melatonin gummies are nice, 3-4 of them and sleepy time for Bonzo.

That's pretty much everyone though. We ALL over estimate our stamina and abilities.

It's only when they are realistically tested do we realize where we are truly at.

I remember holding the knuckle pushup position for the first time- damn this is hard, but I'm tough right.... Probably lasted under a minute first go around- arms shaking, body out of whack. 7 1/2 minutes has been my best time since then. I don't do the holds as much as I used to.

We only had time for 1 mile the other night so I told Jr. that we would go a little faster than he was used to. 1 mile with a 30 lb. ruck and rifle. He was a little behind me at 9:30 He's been doing the 2 miler around 21 or less.

Hows everyones routines going. Im back into the swing...lil slow got some sore heels where my achillies attaches (on and off for years..but first in three)..and joints are hurting..prolly weather dang getting older....
                            But still plugging away.
Was at the gym at work...guys got going on the try this...try that wieght wise on the machines...put 180 up on bench did it 8 times...coulda went more. But thats the 1st ive done press in years. I was kinda shocked i did that. I wanted to do my weight but the machines dont go that high...liabilty i guess. Or im way to fat lol
Either way...im sure i could bench my weight after that and all i do is push ups(incline and normal )
Doing something right...as i got a used woodland size lg reg bdu shirt to downsize and theres plenty of wiggle room.....in reality fits like it should...
Loosing bulk is nice but man makes my wallet hurt to replace old kit.

They should make spandex bdus :) im joking..
