I shot my first deer of my life today!

ahh a BONE COLLECTOR
that "stuff", well it can be done without it but that stuff does make the diffence in getting close IMO. Monsters are nice but I worked just as hard for my smallest doe as I did for my biggest buck. Where we hunt we cant use 4wheelers and it's the drag or cart. Well it just makes it worth it. I enjoy the real hunt, the time in the woods the family n friends, the work involved, a sense of accomplishment, watching my kids grow to the point that they have begun taking care of me. The kill yep its part but not all. Just wait till your youngun is old enough to hit the woodline with ya! I always get excited come fall, neck swells, head itches, start marking my territory LOL. Look at the skills it took to accomplish it from field to table, man thats something cant everyone do. It's hunter/warrior tradition Tsalagi. You just put a higher protein meal out that never saw styrofoam and learned to control the beast within. There will be some you will need to track, have patience, mark the blood, get on the hands n knees if needed, have a second set of eyes to watch while you work and make ever expanding circles till ya pick it back up. You will see, hear, smell and sense things no computer commado will ever understand.

This past spring. Me, my buddy and his wife all got our hunting licenses.

He got the first doe.

I got the buck

Then today, his wife got her first doe. And it was bigger than his. I am laughing my butt off!!!!!!! He hates me for only going out once this year and nailing a buck after he goes twice a week and then his wife nails one bigger than his. Classic!
