Every day carry knife location

I EDC at least 2 knives and a leatherman. 2 is one, 1 is none blah blah blah...

My "work" knife, for cutting banding, cardboard, etc. is right front pocket clipped. The knife is an Emmerson mini CQC-7 Tanto serrated.

MY fighting knife is carried in off side rear pocket clipped. Its either an Emmerson CQC-16 or Microtech UDT depend on my mood/fancy.

My leatherman is carried on my belt in a Pock-Itz pouch at the 4 to 5 oclock position. the pouch carries the leatherman "wave" or my Gerber M-16 tool. depending on my activity. It also carries a Surfire L1 LumaMax light a box cutter and various size "allen" wernch's. a pen and spare key to my vehicle.
The several knife approach is for different functions but also for my get home or bug out. Im on the road all day so if something happens, baloon goes up while im on the road at work, im covered. If I lose a knife, break a knife etc. im covered. Or if I am attacked I have several options depending on the scenerio on what to grab in a scuffle. Or pinneddown and cant reach a primary I have a secondary.

I carry on an everyday basis 3 knives on my body at all times. I also carry several in a Maxpedition and other pouches.

The three knives I carry include a small blade that I use to open packages, etc. I also carry a medium all round knife, that I would use for utility purposes. And finally, I carry a defensive blade that stays super sharp. I never use the defensive blade to cut anything. it stays in top condition.

Where I carry the blades depends on the pants that I am wearing. In cargo pants I will carry them in the pocket using the clip (it is legal for a clip to show in florida). Some knives I will clip to a belt and have the shirt cover them. When wearing jeans, I use the little watch pocket to carry my defensive blade.

The most important thing is to keep track of your defensive knife - know where it is at all time and be sure it is easy to access. I also recommend as stated, to carry a package opener to keep the defense knife sharp at all times.

Does anyone know if it is legal to carry in FL??? I have my concealed permit.
I thought there was a blade size issue?????? Also, fixed or non-fixed...

With the concealed permit is it is legal to carry a knife. There is no limit on blade length.

Not trying to be inflammatory, but the Texas state penal code clearly states that you can only carry a concealed handgun with a license and makes no concessions for illegal knives for CHL holders. In all of the instances concerning chl holders and illegal knives, that person lost their CHL and faced fairly steep fines.

There is a federal mandate stating public safety officers can cary auto knives, but that still does not apply in Texas. Being a public safety officer myself, I do carry an auto knife, but there is nothing legal about it.

I'm not trying to be combative, just informative. Personally it was hard trying to find time to get my CHL, and I would hate to loose it due to a misunderstanding.

I have carried a Benchmade AFCK for 15 years, always in my right front pocket. It measures 5.25 inches overall with a blade 1/16 short of 4 inches. I carry quite a few other things in that pocket, including an old stanley 1/2 inch X 12 foot tapemeasure, a select-a-bit screwdriver with 16 different tips, a small roll of electrical tape, and a set of keys in a leather case. Under most circumstances I can access anything I need without removing the knife. The AFCK does have a Spyderco licensed hole in the blade, so it doesn't have a stud to catch on anything. I have misplaced the knife on a couple of occasions and felt lost without it.
On my other side I carry a Vise-Grip Toolbox and a Vise-Grip long-nosed 6" pliers together in a sheath originally made for the Toolbox alone. When the sheath stretched and loosened I added the needle-nosed pliers to keep everything secure. Otherwise it had a tendency to fall out. I carry my wallet in my left front pocket, have for over 50 years, and one side benefit to that is that you don't have the imbalance affecting your back from sitting on the thing. Also a lot harder to pickpocket, though I haven't lived in a city for many years.

i keep my right front pocket empty all the time except for a naa .22 and and a big crkt tanto .
if that doesnt work try rightside between the front pocket and your zipper insided the waist band with the clip out .

I just started carrying one everyday as well. I use it a lot now at work. I have a S&W Swat knife. Looks cool, feels good. Hell, it was a Christmas gift. I have been carrying it on my right side front clipped to my belt or in my front right pocket (strong arm). Now with some of your comments, I am going to try it in different spots to see how comfortable and how accessible it can be.

I carry mine clipped into my front right hand watch pocket. Never seem to notice it and it is out of the way, without getting in the way of using my main front pocket.

Strong-side front holds one of my Spyderco's.

I gave away 13 knives for Christmas this year to relatives and friends in my attempt to simplify my life.

I carry a SOG Twitch XL in my front left hand(weak side) pocket. I clip it to the back side of the pocket. It is flat and comfortable to carry that way for me. The clip is high enough that the whole knife disappears into my pocket and only the clip is visible on the outside.

With the assisted opening, I can pull it out with my left hand and open it easily. The clip is easy to move from one side or the other of the knife.

I also carry a SOG powerLock 2.0 EOD in Black Oxide on my belt, on the right side behind my gun holster.

I carry in the strong hand front pocket. Find a knife that is comfortable to carry. Many have rough edges and may even be too large in width and don’t allow pocket access. The CRKT has a rough flipper and will grind your knuckle in the pocket and tear the furniture as does the clip in the side of my chair. The flipper can be smoothed down with a file/stone. My Kershaw is much smoother and all the edges are rounded for a much more user friendly carry.

Is it a tool that can be used as a weapon or a weapon that might be a tool? That question will answer a lot of what/how you carry.

I do not put mine in the back pocket. Get with a training partner that you use for you hand to hand stuff. Tape the knife shut with duct tape for safety, or even better, spend a few dollars on a training knife. Clip it in the back and the front pocket and then "get mugged" and go into ground fighting or even standing clinch/wrestling and see how hard it is for you to defend him taking it from you or how easy it is for him to get it. Same thing you should do with the way you carry a handgun.

Serrations have a place but it is up to you to decide wether you need them or not.

Always carry either my Gerber Sykes-Fairbain folder or CRKT M-60 in my right front pocket. Multitool, either Gerber or Leatherman goes on the left horizontal on the belt at 8 o'clock. which I can retrieve and open with my weak hand only if needed

thanks for the suggestions. I'll try the weak side back pocket since the strong side back pocket usually has my wallet in it. It would be too annoying to start carrying it on the other side.
Klayton- I got the one with the straight edge. The serrated one looked cool and scary Conan style but not very practical.
