Not trying to be inflammatory, but the Texas state penal code clearly states that you can only carry a concealed handgun with a license and makes no concessions for illegal knives for CHL holders. In all of the instances concerning chl holders and illegal knives, that person lost their CHL and faced fairly steep fines.
There is a federal mandate stating public safety officers can cary auto knives, but that still does not apply in Texas. Being a public safety officer myself, I do carry an auto knife, but there is nothing legal about it.
I'm not trying to be combative, just informative. Personally it was hard trying to find time to get my CHL, and I would hate to loose it due to a misunderstanding.
