Wow! I just now saw this video.

It's a great idea but I'm not too sure about carrying tampons around with me. :o

          UPDATE:
Cotton Balls soaked with the "waterless" hand cleaner worked. They have been setting around for 6 months in a plastic container. When I opened the container I could still smell the product on the cotton balls (I figured this was a good sign). I fluffed one up and used a ferro rod to spark it. It flamed instantly and started a decent fire... Granted the flames from the 'modified' cotton ball were not as large or long lasting as many of the industrial strength fire products but they are basically free (everyone has cotton balls and hand sanitizer). End Result I started damp/wet tender on fire with out much effort so it gets an A- (ie I will through it in my BOB but keep looking for better)

I now want to try cooking oil on cotton balls. (olive oil and veg. oil)

Where do you find something like that? I looked around at walmart and lowes...i just thought, auto part store?

              Where did who find what?

If you are looking for the cotton balls with hand sanitizer in a water proof container... All items can be found at Wally World.

Container was a simple small round container made to store matches (Found in the camping section) I saw green and bright orange about 0.99 each. Might even have had matches in it.

Although I like the container, the most useful part of this video for me was the tape on the can opener. That thing has been poking and prodding me like you wouldnt believe. I can't believe I never thought of tape , sometimes you just need a different perspective.
Carry as little as possible , to obtain as much as needed.

I really like the idea of carrying Vaseline soaked cotton b/c it can still be used a variety of ways, even though intended as a fire starter. The only thing with an EDC is that the petrolatum may breakdown the rubber seal, so I 'd go with a plastic container if possible

The rubber seal sits on the outer portion so it is never in contact
