OK guys, lets see if you can access the pictures. If so I will comment on a few of them and answer any questions. This B.O.B. has been split into 2 bags now. This is meant to get my wife 2 very young children and myself to our B.O.L. about 20 miles away. There are some things not pictured, Kudo's to anyone who guesses whats left out. And ALWAYS suggestions and criticisms are welcome.

hmmm....i didn't see any canteens or equivalent. Looked like you had four packs of emergency water and 1 liter of Diet Dr. Pepper but that won't be enough to get you 20 miles, IMO.

Saw only 1 poncho and 2 emergency blanket.
didn't see a sleeping bag of any kind or equivalent.
          I didn't see a flashlight.
          Spare Clothes/shoes?
TP? unless that little bit of white in the plastic baggie with what looked like a wash cloth was it?

It would have helped to if there were text boxes by some of the items to label what they were, some of them I couldn't tell what they were. All in all looks pretty good depending on what you left out, I am sure I am missing some things.

first pic is the pack. this has now been split into 2 packs, one for me and one for the wife

second pic. showing 2 liter soda for size reference only. both packs are the same brand.

third pic. shows shotgun and pistol. both fit inside pack fully concealed.

4th pic. shows contents of stuff sack. tent with extra tarp, 2 poncho liners in vacuum bags. tent is only because I have 2 small children to keep corralled.

            5th. spax hatchet\axe

6th. in the same compartment as the shotgun I keep ammo and 4 3600 cal rations. the ammo is now on 50 rnd bandoleer or in 4 mags.

7th.\8th\9th. shows contents of the side pouches. 1 rain poncho 2 space blankets, some airline bottles, baby wipes, hand towel\soap, ant campers toilet paper. volcano stove\cup\alum bottle, knife, 2 eating combos, several lighters, mag fire starter, e-tool, and leatherman.

10th. 550 cord, which hopefully, someday, will be braided for belts and cool stuff. someday. lol

11th. this one was to show how the pack opens up while laying down. which makes it easier to access.

12th.\13th. 3 mtn house meals, folding saw, boy scout handbook, second canteen cup, alcohol stove, cup, wind up flashlight\radio, second e-tool, duct tape and black tape, fire sticks, filter straw, more lighters, water chem pills.

14th. first aid kit. (I didn't unpack this all the way.) note that quick clot, Israeli bandage, and turnikit are in separate pouch for easy (one handed) access.

yes, water is one thing not showed. I have 2 3-liter hydration bladders.

I'd have to say starting off, you are carrying a lot of extra weight around...

The Stanley FUBAR hammer thing or whatever that is weighs a ton. Unless you plan on tearing down a building, I'd leave it behind.

I'd add some antibiotic ointment to the med kit

              The booze is for?

You have two knife, fork, spoon sets. I'd go with lightweight spoons instead.

Shovel is personal preference, I'll keep my opinions to myself.

Lot of paracord. Will you ever use that much? 50 is generally sufficient. 100 is pushing it due to bulk and whatnot. Plus, it's the devil to get untangled. I'd grab something to roll it up on

Same issue with the duct tape. Probably only need about half that. YMMV though

No water filtration/purification. Unless I missed it and it's those two bottles.

              Pick axe and a shovel?

See the alcohol stove, but where's the alcohol?

Cold weather gear? I assume that's seasonal, but spare socks and/or a change of clothing?

              Four lighters?

If all you are doing is heating water, I'd drop that gianormous cooking kit and go with a smaller lightweight pot. 500 to 700 ml ought to do it. And/or use the GI canteen cup and stove attached to the outside.

Just a few things off the top of my head

Nice pack dude. The only thing glaring that I didn't see was some extra clothes. I personally keep socks and boxers in a bag, if anything, that is most important to me but I keep an old pair of khakis and a longs sleeve T wrapped up as well.

And I would look into getting a smaller, lighter tent (if funds permit)....

Also, what kind of pack is that? I really like it.....and whats your approx. weight of the pack
With my arrival of another child, my packs had to have a composition change. Because we also use our packs for backpacking and hiking, they are always changing.

for sleeping bags I have the poncho liners, in spring\fall\summer around here its enough. If anyone knows of an inexpensive sleeping bag that is lightweight but yet is -20 rated I would like to hear about it. Right now I am leaning toward to military sleep system. (it covers my needs very well but it is expensive) Any thoughts?

Clothes have been removed from the pictures. They are in vacuum bags. Clothes were one of the items I had left out (except for undergarments) because of weight\room. However, now that this has been split into 2 packs I am going to put them back in.

The hammer thing is from Dead On tools. My route takes me accross a major highway where it crosses a creek. That underpass has been boarded up by the highway dept to prevent homeless from crossing under the highway. I will cross there. (this falls under the "scout your route before you bug out" section and I am glad I did)

Ointment is in one of the plastic bags I didnt fully open. But you did remind me to add some more Ibuprofen and Benadryl to my wifes pack.

Spoon sets and shovel I could do without. The shovels were the next to be removed because of the weight but that is no longer an issue.

Paracord I plan to have 1 belt and 1 ball per pack. This should be about 150 feet each pack. I will say again, PLAN TO. This is a work in progress, but will probably take a while to get to, or ever.

Yes those 2 bottles are the water pills. plus a filter straw and 3 liter bladder for each pack.

the pick axe and shovel are the same thing.

Wow, after all my planning I didn't have alcohol for the stove!! That will be rectified in the morning. Thanks Grand, My wife ended up with the alcohol stove, boy, would she have been p...d. lol.

The pack says Black River Guide Series, other than that I can't help you much. I bought them off of e-bay. if you google black river guide series, then look at images, you can find one store that sells them. My selling point is I can carry my rifle\shotgun concealed WITHIN the pack, and that they open from a laying down position like a suitcase. Eburlestock (sp?) sells some but they are hundreds per pack.

Fully loaded, each pack is about 35 lbs. About 15 of that is water and weapons\ammo.

I also keep copies of my important papers ss cards, insurance, exc.. in a vacuum bag.

For my kids I keep a diaper bag loaded up and ready to go. My kids are very small so what it takes to keep them going is changing almost weekly. Changing whats in the diaper bag is easier than trying to keep the B.O.B. current. and it can strap on to my pack to carry.

When we split our packs into 2 packs, we added more freeze dried food to each pack.

Also, I would add fishing gear because you don't know how long it will take you to get home. I would add 5 small hooks either 8/0 or 10/0, 50 to 60 ft of 8lb test line, and 5 small split shot sinkers. That way you can suppliment your food with fish or turtles. You may have included fishing equipment on another post but I didn't see it.
