He gives as good as he gets. If he was feeling better I would have had him teach a few also.

Good campout folks, thanks for coming.

Weather was 'brisk' to say the least. Hard to forecast way ahead of time how the weather is going to play out at these. We have had some HOT November campouts and some COLD May campouts there.

If you missed it, you missed some great gear deals, barter faire 2014 style LOL. You missed a great class on gear setup, demonstrating various types of rigs, advantages and disadvantages of each style and some tips that you really only pick up after using gear for a while. You missed a class on chokes wherein we saw how to use your body, his body, things he might be wearing or CARRYING to choke the person out. We looked at blood and air chokes, the difference between the two. We choked standing up, one our backs, on mount, etc. We looked at some ingenious chokes to both choke the person and control any normal response from the person- aka the "I'll grab my knife" type stuff. The question was asked about possible counters so we looked at those also.

As things sometimes do with these classes, this morphed into demonstrating some work against the rifle at close range, some various takeaways of rifles were looked at as well as some counters to that.

We kept the blue guns (fake training rifles, it was a private campground but in a state park) out and looked at some low position work- proper use of kneeling position for shooting, how to transition easily from kneeling to standing, prone, modified prone, quickly changing to address targets in a 360 degree environment while also maintaining a low platform, we looked at proper bracing - hard on soft versus hard on hard type stuff. Demonstrated some ways to safely manipulate the rifle around while working in a team situation.

Other than the crazy windstorm.... it was a great campout :)

Protus, I was straightforward on the peppers. Nothing but red, fully ripe Tabascos. They sure have some heat though. Oh my!

Have to say that the get together was "better than advertised". More like seeing cousins and stuff than folks off the internet. :)

Slept well, other than hearing the dang train all night long, and despite the temps. I believe the lowest it got was between 30 and 32F. Wind was a howler!

Classes and demonstrations were very good this trip. I learned a lot. Mostly learned the things I can't do any more. :)

Thanks to everyone for the help, during the weekend. I finally got packed up and out of there somewhere after 12:30, but felt good.

      See y'all in the spring.

Definitely a good weekend. Even the weather was good as it shows that you can do it when it's cold out. Good fellowship, good training, good trading, what more can you ask for. Dennis

We are glad folks can make it if even for a few hours.

We try a late spring gathering there again to see if that brings out more of the fair weather campers who get scared when they see 30 degree temps :)
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

For me it's not the temps...it's the time of year. This is an extremely busy time of year for me both at work and at home.
