Time's approaching again for the Annual Georgia campout. November 5th, 6th and 7th at General Coffee State Park, Douglas, GA.
This will be our 9th or 10th gathering at this location.
General Coffee State Park is located about 6 miles East of Douglas on Hwy 32. We will be camping in the "Pioneer Area" in the rear of the park. This area is gated and a gate code is given the DAY of the campout. The park doesn't give it out sooner than that, I've tried in years gone by and they won't give it out ahead of time at all. That being said, we post the gate code on this thread the day of, and it will be on the voice mail message of my cell. In addition you can ask any Forest Ranger or at the front desk for the code.
Here is the park website-
It is a primitive camp area. Their is an outhouse and water, but that's it. Plan accordingly.
Your welcome to come for the whole weekend, for the day or half day and just meet everyone.
As before we will have numerous FREE classes on a multitude of preparedness and survival subjects, a barter time and plenty of time for chat around the campfire.
In the past we have done communal meals. We are going to try this one and the January Ocala campout WITHOUT communal meals at the request of more than a few regular attendees. In other words, your required to feed and take care of yourself at this one. Besides, we are missing great cooking in the field learning opportunities if all we are doing is standing in line for food
Weather is usually very nice there this time of year, in the 60's and 70's during the day and rarely getting lower than the 40's at night. Plan for cooler but not cold weather.
Always a great group of people from Georgia, Florida and South Carolina get together. This is a good chance to meet other like minded folks, attend some FREE classes, enjoy some great campfire chat and have fun!
The site costs $60.00 so I would appreciate a $5. per person donation to cover these costs.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again and especially some of our North Georgia friends!
As always we are open to ideas for classes, events, etc.
