    That has been my thought also. We are so accustomed to a quarter being worth .25c that I don't think Joe Average is going to agree
    with you that it is worth $10.00 (whatever). To him it is still a quarter.

    Now if he needs some 22 rounds or a gallon of kerosene you might be able to make a good barter.

    I agree with ya. I have a very limited amount of junk coins. Mostly dimes and quarters. If I was to try and buy something with 10 dimes someone would think I had a dollar not $30.... Once I have a goooood supply of other stuff I will then look into coins. My buddy believes in silver and guns/ammo. Told me security and money are the most important. You can a have a years worth of food and water and no guns and someone can take em. So many variables, but I think you and LD3's views are the same ones I have.
