I purchased some mainstay ration bars. I had not tried them but having a 5yr shelf life they intrigued me. I bought one of each size to determine the amount of space and calories to see which pack/container /vehicle they would go in. The smaller one is 3x6x1 weighs about 3oz in a 3 sectioned bar that totals 1200 calories. Each serving contains 23g fat, 7g saturated fat, 23mg sodium, 46g carb, 2g fiber, 14g sugar and 3g protein. It has vitamin A, C, Calcium, Thiamin, Niacin, D, E, B6 & 12, Folic Acid, Phosphorus, Magnesium and Pantothenic Acid. I have no idea what half of that stuff is but maybe it means something to you.
The taste is similar to the MRE lemon pound cake and IMO good. My wife tried it and even through her skepticism said it was not bad. The texture is dry and crumbly.
