It seems that the BASIC firearm safety laws would have avoided the tragedies I have read so far...
Never point a firearm at anything you are not ready and willing to destroy.
Keep finger off trigger until ready to shoot (The above covers faulty triggers)

They claim small amounts of rust, debris, or even a small jolt can push the connector out of alignment, separating the trigger itself from the rest of the firing mechanism. Saw a do***entary somewhere that stated none of the "ADs" could be replicated. It showed one fellow slamming the bolt down hard on a rifle that supposedly went off when the bolt was moved. I just gave my son my 700 and feel perfectly safe in doing so.Comment

Every 700 I have seen/heard of that had this problem, the trigger had been adjusted on it. Leave the trigger alone unless you know what your doing, and make sure anyone you have adjusting it, knows what they are doing.
