I'm afraid I'd have to cut quite a bit off the story to get it to "publishing size." Yes, there is some fat in there (this latest camping scene is "fat" in the story) but I'm not sure I could get it to the five hundred or so pages for an initial publishing.

From what I understand, the going page count is around five hundred or so for a first time publisher. There are exceptions, but most of the big houses don't want to take a chance on a huge novel as a first work.

Thanks for the update. Maybe you'll be such a famous writer in the future that you can put out rewrites of your early work, like directors cuts in movies? That way we can have all the fat back in! :D

Got me hooked!

Well the whole time I am reading this story I am thinking I am so glad I found it after it was written and I don't have to wait for the next chapter and then I hit here...and I realized you haven't finished yet and I have caught up to where you are! Grand I am hooked on the story line and anxiously awaiting the next chapter thanks so much for this! It has been a nice escape to get lost in the story.

Nothing is off the table at this point. Again, trying to get my place to live set up (dealing with an interesting Realtor right now) before doing much else.

Although I did sit down today and link a bunch of parts together and got some extra chapters set up. I do that for when I can't find the time to write so I have some in reserve to post.

I need to apologize, i doubted you when you said that your story SC is over 500 pages, so last night i cut and pasted it into a word doc, last night. It was 900 plus pages at 16 point. This is a great story, thanks for the promise of more.

At current count (up to chapter 60 completed) it's 850 at 12 point Times New Roman. But that's also taking into account the page breaks and extra space.

Probably go over a thousand when I'm done.

Grand, my hard copy of Unintended Consequences" is 861 pages of very small print! Certainly not 12 point for sure. Betcha you could get published, guy. Just did a comparison of print and size and UC is done in New Times Roman 10 point.
