A couple of years ago, I was swarmed by Yellow Jackets and stung numerous times; 20-25 at once. Not too much fun, but I did have a reaction. One of my hands looked like the Michelin Man's. A co-worker who was a former EMT Captain saw my hand and freaked out. He told me that I needed to carry an EpiPen from now on. I spoke to my doctor about it and he acted as if I was asking for a controlled substance. Are EpiPens easy to obtain, and aren't they good to store for the PAW?

NOW that being said, if I have a prescription for it im going to get a refill every chance I get.. but that doesnt mean im throwing away a pen just because its a year or so out of date...
