  • EpiPen

A couple of years ago, I was swarmed by Yellow Jackets and stung numerous times; 20-25 at once. Not too much fun, but I did have a reaction. One of my hands looked like the Michelin Man's. A co-worker who was a former EMT Captain saw my hand and freaked out. He told me that I needed to carry an EpiPen from now on. I spoke to my doctor about it and he acted as if I was asking for a controlled substance. Are EpiPens easy to obtain, and aren't they good to store for the PAW?

Available by prescription only, expensive, short shelf life...the best my wife has seen is just over two years.

Epinephrine is sold as an injectable in almost every farm store, and online pet supplies, but you need to keep it refrigerated for long term...

Im going to go out on a limb here guys and say that as long as the liquid is still clear and has no particulates when I look through the inspection window.. im using it!!! NOW that being said, if I have a prescription for it im going to get a refill every chance I get.. but that doesnt mean im throwing away a pen just because its a year or so out of date...
