    Hi Matt.

That's a good idea for a future post. First, you should find out if the bark scorpion lives in your area. It's the most dangerous in the U.S. Google it and know what it looks like. If you suspect a bite get to the ER. If you have symptoms, call 911. If you can't get to a doc, and for other types of scorpion bites.

Clean, ice, elevate to heart level. You may need something for pain. You would watch for symptoms and treat accordingly. Examples--Neck or mouth swelling-keep airway open, consider intubating if needed. --Low blood pressure-lie down, elevate feel slightly higher than head, give IV fluids.
The good news is the life threatening things are very unlikely unless it's the bark scorpion.

I have a new post up on how to deal with nuclear power plant meltdown threats. Another is pros and cons of taking potassium iodide. I'd love to know your thoughts.

          Doc,
Can you do something on antibiotics that you would store if they were available? Children are my main concern, but adults would be great also.

          Thanks

I bet you'd be surprised about some of the most common animals that carry rabies these days. Also, what to do until you can get the shots. http://www.thesurvivaldoctor.com/2012/06/12/rabies/

I have a couple of new posts on saving someone from drowning. First is how to get them out of the water without endangering yourself. Second is on the differences on CPR of a near drowning victim vs CPR of someone who collapses on dry land.
Does anyone have any experiences to share?

Depends on what bacteria you're trying to kill. I have some recommendations in my new ebooks coming out on Tuesday, July 17. For rabies, no antibiotic is going to help.

We talked about the Pot in Pot refridgeration a couple of times in other threads. Really a "cool" (pun intended) plan for a Grid Down situation. We should all be using as many of these types of ideas. Comes down to time and effort expended.
Looking forward to you take on antibiotics, there have been some talk but would love to here your list.
