nice knifes guys i wanna make one lol
Whats the point of having and not knowing how to use? You dont have a car and not know how to drive it do you? Having the tools for the job is worthless with out the knowledge of how to use it!

Anyone still working on a knife project? If anyone is interested I can list suppliers for steel and handle materials and also some really nice knife kits that can be user assembled. With these kits a person can get the know how to build from scratch.

The easiest way would be a cloth buffing wheel and rouge compound.By hand, progressively go from say a 220 grit to 400 to 600 up to around a 1500 grit but only stroke in one direction or it will put little j hooks in the finish.Be sure to polish before heat treat or it will be much harder to polish. For a user knife a 400-600grit finish is plenty. Hope this helps.

MADE THESE TWO FOR HEAVY WORK. STAINLESS WITH CHERRIE HANDLE WILL MAKE A LEATHER SHEATH LATER.

Good job blackhawk. It appears you have a convex edge which will be a very strong edge. This type of edge will be great for chopping and rough use.If you make a skinning type blade you may need to pull the grinds farther from the edges to create a finer edge which will create a sharper edge.Keep it up and you will be a knifemaker before you know it,it can be addicting.
