  • Do you believe in demons?

If you believe the Bible - you must believe in Angels. On the same token, if you believe in Angels, you must believe in demons.

When I think of the way people are behaving throughout the world, I realize something besides the trouble maker's self interest is the motivation. These behaviors are aimed at destroying not only governments but the binding threads of society itself.

In our own Country, I'm dropped jawed on a daily basis about the constant tearing of the fabric of our culture and society. The latest dropped jaw was over the push bra for 8 year olds! What culture sexualized their children - both boys and girls, and expects to continue as a culture.

Our politicians remind me of selfish worms whose only interest is in their own accumulation of power and money regardless of whether they destroy their country or not.

The attack on Christianity is beyond the pale. I am constantly furious over the daily attack on anyone who is a believer. Seems networks believe it's ok to demean Christian values and beliefs, to depict Christians as right wing nuts on just about every show I can think of. That's why I almost never watch a TV show anymore.

These are just a few example. Todays chaotic world make me believe demons are loose within the world and our society. Demons, whose main purpose is to serve the devil and to ruin the lives of all of us.

I know that this statement is a definite example of a 'nut job', but when you watch behavior across the globe aimed at self destruction, you have to wonder.

I am convinced that there are demons and some over take people and their minds. All you have to do is see what we do to each other daily and you know it can't all be just man.
I am convinced from my life experiences and have fought those who were no longer there. I'm not sure what it was but I know what/who it wasn't. and yes this too is the statement of a "nut job" or so thought till we had the same discussion in Church a while back and some other quiet Godly men, unlike myself or so i thought, spoke up suprising me. Everyone had been looking at me during the discussion but i was having none of it as I have had enough of the "that guy" looks.

Two things I see throughout the Bible. Love and war. If there is a war, there is an enemy.

Yes I believe there are demons, lots of them.

edit: But I believe in the end, Good will triumph and evil will be destroyed. At least thats how I read the end of my Bible. Until then, the war rages on, and the stakes are high.

                  Pardon me for the daring:

What kind of church do you believe? I suppose that christian protestant church, but, what kind of protestant?
I only want to know more about you, the americans, as I'm spanish. Here in spain the majority is christian catholic but very very people doesn't "practicate" (It mean's they don't go to church never). And I'm agnostic but with christian morality.

I'm of a church that is simply Christian.
I have gone to Methodist, Southern Babtist, Church of Christ and Assembly of God as I grew up and even as I became an adult.
I have visited many types of Churches over the years with friends to include Catholic.

Demons -- evil spirits -- the adversary -- all things that take part in the destruction of morality, faith, families, love, etc. When we fall, even slightly, to the "natural man", it leaves you vulnerable to other temptations, I believe, caused by the adversary and his demons. It's been prophesied that our society will become worse than sodom and gomorrah, so I suspect we've still got a long way to go. We stopped watching TV for the same reason you did (except for PBS, we've come to love it!). Even if we happen to choose a good show, we get to see half naked women or some other something that demeans our values and tears at our eye sockets or eardrums during the commercials. We have even decided to homeschool just because of the junk that even 5 year olds are saying and talking about on the playground. Our local schools around us are even implementing children's picture books that teach about how some families have a "Daddy and a daddy" and so forth in Kindergarten this coming year. Just try and put your blinders on and keep on movin' through the muck.

That was well said Megan. Our social 'media' is one of my soap boxes. I remember seeing an ad for children's clothes in 1985 or so, I commented to my husband the ad made the little girls and boys look sexual. I really bothered me. It's been down hill ever since.

My purpose for asking the question is that some of the things I see going in our society and the world must be done by people without souls.

Absolutely, I believe in demons. And for those that express a lack of belief in God, "You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder."

Also see some examples (Not an exhaustive list):
                          1 Timothy 4:1
                          Matthew 12:45
                          Matthew 25:41
                          2 Peter 2:4
                          Jude 1:6

I think you're dead on, and you gave good examples to justify your belief. So many people now a days have no scruples. And then so many others work so hard to condone their behavior and make excuses for it. That is how it spreads.

Unfortunately there are too many people who call themselves Christian but still watch ungodly things on TV and in the movies and listen to ungodly things on the radio. If more Christians would take a stand and refuse the garbage that satan keeps pushing, the media producers would have to change because they just want to sell a product. If Christian products sold better that is what they would produce.
