Yes, I believe in demons, not the Hollywood version. I believe there are evil forces at work even more so because we are in the latter days. But I also believe and I grateful for the ability to choose. All these evil doers are choosing their actions after being influence. The sad part is they are waisting their one shot at life, choosing the evil instead of the good and following our Saviors beautiful example of how to live. When I see things like what you've mentioned it makes me so sad we've allowed these things to permeate our culture, communities and in our own homes. Turn the tv on and within 5 minutes good solid Christian values are trampled on. The best counter defense to Satan and his henchman is to hold strong to those values momma taught, feast daily on His word and strengthen your relationship through prayer... Like someone already suggested, it's just beginning. We've been given great news through the scriptures that if we prepare we shall not need to fear. Grateful for this site to help with the preparing!

Yes, I believe in demons and have experienced them trying to attack me. At first I was very afraid, but when I prayed and stayed close to my Lord, they left. 1 Peter5:8-11.

HDM, is that the one with Robert Duval that I have heard advertised on the radio? If so, it sounds good. If not, I will check it out and make sure we watch it. Also, for those of you interested, a few really good movies that we have watched as a family are:

What a great thread, with lots of really good comments. I definitely believe in demons, and in my opinion, think that we see them on a daily basis. I just have to look at my own family and the struggles several of my family members have or had (for those who have passed away) with alcoholism. Reading the news is another place where we can see examples of demons with all of the destructive behavior we see in people with drugs, alcohol, deviant behavior, etc.

HDM, I agree 100% with regards to television, movies, music, and books or reading material have an affect on how we think, our thoughts, and to a certain extent what is in our hearts. We do not have cable TV and are very particular as to what we allow our children to watch. Just trying to find good quality movies that we can watch as a family that does not have any questionable content is a huge challenge.

We need to continue to pray for our World and the people in it because it is not going to get better anytime soon.

The fact that demons are real is pretty clear in Scripture IMO. I don't think they can inhabit a real born again believer however. Can they tempt us? I don't see anything in Scripture that says they can't. Problem is most Christians spiritual discernment is weakened or non existant from years of compromise with things of the world, watching TV regularly, etc.

We are trained to look at the superficial more than what's real. The Lord pronounced a "woe unto thee" to the Pharisees for "cleansing the outside of the cup" but leaving the inside of the cup dirty. This could be related to the people who like to play "church" and make a huge deal because someone cussed but are the biggest liars, thieves and swindlers out there. However they know how to "look the part" and "talk the talk" to sound and appear spiritual.

I believe in demons. I think that the "spirits of dead loved ones" are nothing more than demons. Psychics in particular - even the ones that do "good," like leading searchers or police to a victim - are used by demons. It is counter intuiative that Satan would do something "good" so it lowers people's resistance to the occult.

Unfortunately there are too many people who call themselves Christian but still watch ungodly things on TV and in the movies and listen to ungodly things on the radio. If more Christians would take a stand and refuse the garbage that satan keeps pushing, the media producers would have to change because they just want to sell a product. If Christian products sold better that is what they would produce.

I think you're dead on, and you gave good examples to justify your belief. So many people now a days have no scruples. And then so many others work so hard to condone their behavior and make excuses for it. That is how it spreads.

Absolutely, I believe in demons. And for those that express a lack of belief in God, "You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder."

That was well said Megan. Our social 'media' is one of my soap boxes. I remember seeing an ad for children's clothes in 1985 or so, I commented to my husband the ad made the little girls and boys look sexual. I really bothered me. It's been down hill ever since.

My purpose for asking the question is that some of the things I see going in our society and the world must be done by people without souls.
