Earlier today I took the fourth call in less than a month from someone that called us asking where their order of Mountain house food was. WE DO NOT SELL MOUNTAIN HOUSE FOOD.
UPDATED 4/15 AT THE TIME THIS NON SENSE STARTED THE REAL JRH ENTERPRISES WAS NOT SELLING MT. HOUSE FOODS
Evidently some joint in Utah is using some email address that includes "jhrfoodstorage" in the email address.
Anywhoo, so of course we have had to field four calls from gals asking where their order is when of course THEY DID NOT EVEN ORDER FROM US!!! Of course since the initials are similar, EVERY one of the callers has been combative and has taken the "your wrong I'm not" tone. Only 1 in 4 said sorry once they realized that it was NOT US that they ordered from.
I'm not cry babying about this, but it does waste a PILE OF MY TIME and of course why should I play customer service rep for a competitor?
A gal from New Zealand that called today, that of course insisted that her order went to us (haven't shipped anything outside the U.S. since 2000 and we don't accept orders from outside the U.S) had the 800 number for this place in Utah but claimed she could not call it from New Zealand.
So I called them for her ;) I was pleasant but I made it extremely clear that we had so many calls in such little time regarding order and that they needed to make it clear they were NOT us. It's a time waster for sure. I was assured by "Landon" and "Heather" that the close sounding names was accidental and that they would stop using those initials in their email address.
From 1992 when we started in business till today's date and for the foreseeable future, JRH Enterprises first out of St. Augustine Florida and since late 1999 out of West Green Georgia has never sold Mountain House foods.
The problem is, a lot of people don't write down or take notes on what they ordered or from where. Then they see an ad for us, remember something that sounds similar or a similar product and call us up asking about an order they never placed with us.
We had a similar problem with a copycat company here in the South that sprang up in late 1997. They would copy ads of the more successful companies and sell similar products in American Survival Guide. We used to field a lot of calls from people tee'd off over orders WE NEVER GOT- because they ordered them from that other company.
Just wanted to throw this clarification out there in case others might be mixed up about it.
