Another item I found in that FarmShow publication...Concrete Fabric. Nothing new I am sure. I just wanted to bring it up for discussion and maybe give people some other ideas. This specific product is in the UK, maybe one of our UK brothers has more knowledge about it. It seems real easy in that just roll it out over the shape and spray with water, even sea water can be used just NOT sewage water.

Concrete Canvas® is the original flexible concrete-filled fabric, engineered for erosion control, containment and weed suppression...

They make shelter kits as well as rolls of this canvas. All kinds of applications, ditches for irrigation was one that I found to be very interesting.

The canvas comes in varying thicknesses, the thicker the better IMO.

Here is how the British are using it in Afghanistan to reinforce sand bag positions in FOB's. http://www.concretecanvas.co.uk/Docs...nforcement.pdf Be sure to read the test metrics.

Maybe some of our Military have seen this over there?

Maybe you don't get the hole house wrapped in it but maybe you buy a roll or two just in case. The time saved with this versus setting up block/rebar might be worth it.

The only time I ever see anything mentioned about this is with a link to the UK like the one you posted. Is this the only place to get it? Im guessing so since I never see a USA link to the fabric cement.

I contacted a company in Virginia that was their sole supplier in 2009 and they quoted the small shelter at 16k plus shipping. Shipping was gonna be about $1900 dollars. The guy I talked to said that it would take a couple of months to get one because it was still made in the UK and they were just the middle man. I thought it would be a better use of money to buy some food. :) I sent an email to these people in SC that are their sole supplier now. Curious to know if they are actually fabricating it here now. that would cut down on costs a lot.
