Does anyone have any experience with cell phone signal boosters in rural areas?

Saw one in use at a friend in the mountains about 7 years ago. It worked pretty well. Had NO reception whatsoever without it, and with it you could call out. It was miles and miles off the paved road ;)www.homesteadingandsurvival.com

I had to buy a cell phone booster when I moved back to Florida. The price is $200.00 which really got me angry, so I called my carried, AT&T and complained. What good is cell service, if every call is broken up with static. Anyway, after threatening to leave the provider, they agreed to credit my account $200.00 the price of the booster.

We get no cell service here in our re-doubt AO......no am or fm either lol........the only alternative is an antenna from Wilson Antennas......they cost about $235.00. We have to saddle up and drive toward town, a good three - four miles to get any signal at all. Even then it can cut out at any moment.
The wife and I each have a pay-as-you-go cell phone for emergencies away from home. Here at the homestead we have a land line.
