Couple of quick notes. I am an IT professional and have lots of colleagues in just about every industry. Supply chains are really broken now. California, Houston, NY all closed ports. This means that what little was coming is not getting to our shores. There are other ports sure...but in the coming week I expect all of the governors to tell everyone to sit at home and dont go out or get arrested. Dont think that they can enforce that, but that is what I expect.
A friend that works at a walmart distribution center (another IT guy) has told me that only 1/2 of the trucks are going out now, and of those leaving most of the trucks are less than half full. There is still food on the shelves most places still, but it wont be long before there is a big time shortage. The replenishment time frame at the walmart distribution center is unknown at this time.
