To do a true quick learn, you need either a DRB III or a TechConnect account with a StarMobile interface. This resets the shift points, shift solenoid adaptives and a few other items to a point that is harmless to the tranny. I've looked at many of the "internet fixes" and have not seen any that would perform the same function, to include the battery cable "method."

Without the proper tool, your best bet is to gently drive it, varying speed, throttle load, and give the TCM a chance to adapt on its own. You will likely notice the vehicle shifting differently as this takes place...just don't hotdog it for a while. You should be gtg.

Tech is right on the money. I have test driven one, put it through the paces, stop, turn off the vehicle, sit for a minute, and repeat. I don't remember why shutting it off helps the relearn procedure, but it has worked for me. After 3 times of this, things are back to normal.
