Repelling, while it has limited applications what it develops is tremendous in spirit, teamwork, confidence and heart. Trusting someone to lower you down on a rope takes a lot.

The fire starting with bow n drill while worthy I went back and watched the last episode to see some pointers and what I found was to have someone hand you the perfectly sanded and matched set LMAO because that's what they did so this "skill" was pure BS and still failed showing just how easy it isn't!
Navigation is being done with a GPS that is preset and handed to you, again no skill involved in going 800 meters in open country even with elevation changes with something that has preloaded way points.

When you are setting up camp you really have to watch the time and collect resources throughout the day. You can't wait to collect tender etc and should be starting on fire the minute you hit camp especially using other methods. The fire can be moved if it is in the wrong spot once camp is developed. You have to be on point with resources. Every dang one of them should have full pockets by early afternoon

I liked the rope stretcher but almost fell out laughing when the two grown men carried the 30lb goat down the hill with it. Throw that little critter over the shoulder and get'er done or just carry'em like a satchel cause a young man hands shouldn't have an issue. Maybe they were told to do that but I think maybe they are still scared of a little blood.

I will give these remaining folks this, they are into it and giving it their all

Done some things in the mountains in helicopters and loved every minute of it!!!! She needs to change her view and understand she will NEVER see it like that again! It's a shame she couldn't enjoy it. Screaming doesn’t really help either; you will only die out of breath.

Downhill is much harder on the knees than uphill especially with packs, loose footing and ice IMO.

I know these folks were thrust into this show with no training and watching them with equipment and gear it is apparent. We must make sure that we are not the same. Owning it is isn’t enough; we must know how to use it so we do not struggle in the moment. I suppose if all else fails read the instructions you are trying to burn thru LOL. The fire tablets will also light easier if they are broken. It exposes the chemical better and gives you a greater surface area for the spark to hit and take.

The mechanical advantage roping is cool and something I’ve used in winching vehicles more than people.

Wet n cold, dont like it none LOL but like we always said "If It Aint Raining We Aint Training"
Jumping into the water from the chopper, don't let'em kid ya someone showed them how beforehand or they woulda got hurt.
I question the wisdom of the swollen river but I know this is for tv. In life it's just way to risky for travel. Many a life has been lost to the dark murky waters. I err more on the side of caution when in survival situations than Bear teaches.
Fire can be hard on a good night with lighter fluid sometimes. These conditions are brutal and the fact they stayed with it was good.
All in all it was ok. It didn't teach a ton but there were lessons in there

          I cannot stand Bear Grylls!

I saw his other show twice. The first time I watched all the way through and thought he was doing things that were stupid in a survival situation. The second show he was in Africe and he was thirsty, he saw an elephant take a dump and ran over took off his shirt put the elephant poop in his shirt and squeezed the liquid out and INTO HIS MOUTH!!

Turned the channel right then and have never watched him again. The man is a total D.B..
