If this dude is making money off of teaching survival skills, I am in the wrong business. I seriously had that thought last night.
Or is he one of the those "youtube" teachers?

I honestly think that the producers arent picking "qualified" people for a reason. They will not make an exciting show and wont have any drama. And it gives us something to talk about the next day.

The goggles through me for a loop........... almost qualifies him for an internet search and send him an eSlap upside his head.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

The last show had a hottie for sure, with skills, strength and determination. I would have shared body heat with her... Connected with the right partner, it would have been an excellent show on what was possible in that environment. I would have had gator tail by the second night for sure!

Goggles would have been GREAT, considering their location, IF.... IF the water wasn't so stirred up and murky. Hard to hunt sea life if you can't see underwater. Goggles with clear water would have gotten fish and other stuff much easier. The girl deserves a high five for the lobster trap...

Man boobs are all fat... You wouldn't want to eat them MiO... LOL!

I like this show, but the men are coming up... shall we say, short.

Well the jungle sure won this one!
A very important point that came out and was stressed over and over was that while these youtubers "teach" the survival skills and get on the show only a few have ever actually gone out and lived it. They can start a fire on a good day in the backyard but as soon as they hit the trail and it's wet and gets real, real fast they fall apart. Everyone has limitations and you had better know them walking in or you are going to be behind the power curve. In this case self professed "bad a>>" jungle boy couldn't get the fire started and guru girl thought she could but waited a whole day so as not to step on toes. bad choice
That day delay caused another bad choice of drinking from the creek which led to fever and eventually their demise. One bad choice snowballs due to ego.
I have fought this in myself as well and have been very guilty.

The other thing is being alone. People are herd animals and the being alone crushes a lot of folks. IMO it is good to try and be alone for a few days with no contact and after bout day 2 I actually enjoy it. I don't get depressed like others I've seen and maybe that is something you need to try so you learn a little more about you in case of emergency.

I watched the behind the scene episode:
They people were honest about the sexuality of being 'naked" and being in a survival situation. There was none with fear, smell, uncleanliness and lack of energy.
The conditions were brutal with no clothes and so I have to give them their props for the challenge no matter how they did. I'm not sure I could do it and I'm not afraid to say so. I do pretty well when clothed and geared but naked and one tool mm dunno. So yep I couch narrated this and I aint in the suck like you were if you happen to read this stuff.
Attitude is everything and this show shows that it can make or break for anyone who hasn't experienced it firsthand. Learning to rely on someone that quick and have faith in them has to be tough. I've known people for years I have none in so this has to be rough.
It re-enforced that cold sucks but wet n cold is deadly. I really gotta work on the fire with sticks n stuff cause i stink.
The no food for 5-6 days, whew dunno thats tough when you are relying on the body in the wild. I lose weight while hunting even keeping fed. Being ready to eat anything and everything is crucial.
They said something that should stick: "We have skills and even that was tough or not enough so without them you are done" or something along those lines.
All in all it was pretty good and there were some things I learned and some things i should learn. I'd like to learn from that island girl who wove like everything and made stuff like it was nothing with the materials around her. I'd like to learn some of the fire stuff they were doing and know just how long that took.

I thought the whole series was great. It really showed how those who think they can often cant . I think serves as reminder to all, to practice ,practice , practice. On a side note , why the hell did everyone keep drinking unclean water, that's the biggest no no out there.
Carry as little as possible , to obtain as much as needed.
