I think when push comes to shove, most LEO will err on the side of their family and friends. Now there are 240,000 employees in DHS, and there are ALOT of paper pushers, and the Organization encompasses a lot of departments. My only issue with the incident we are talking about is the dangerous precedent it starts. Was there another way to handle it, sure, warrants, etc. But in the heat of the moment and with the hound on the scent you cant let up or the coon gets away. I just hope that in this case, new ways to bypass the rights of citizens are not going to be applied in the future, should our present regime decide that our rights can be infringed. That fellas is a brand new ballgame.

As this "recession" continues and it gets harder and harder to find a job... What is LEO to do when it gets down to "Following Orders" in order to feed your family or go out a limb and stand up for whats right? Well feeding your family becomes more important than making a political stand... LOOK AT HISTORY... Do you really think our LEO is that different than those of other TYRANTS? No only time and condition separate them. So dont HOPE they will stand on your side. History shows us they are more likely NOT to stand on your side.

Of course it has happened. Rawles said it best a few weeks ago, People talk about a revolution, but it is really a counter-revolution. The revolution started 60 years ago when the marxist, socialist, commie, whatevers were drugged out hippies. Those people changed nothing as pill popping flower children so they evolved into the movers and shakers of the world by enhancing their liberal arts educations at socialist proving ground colleges across the county. Berkley, Columbia, Harvard, etc. They have evolved, and thru their evolution they have blindsided the right. The children are indoctrinated daily, the mainstream media is bought and paid for. And if you think going to your polling places, and writing your representatives will help, do it. In my mind, this is the thing that I have been prepping for the most. The moral compass is gone from this country for a long time. If a man can try to take away our guns because it "is for the children", but at the same time be for abortion. He is talking out both sides of his mouth. The degradation of society and this nation is imminent. An aristocratic oligarchy is formed, and already in charge of a nation of idiots that let it happen because we as a nation allowed it to happen, by being too busy to pay attention. BUSY: Being Under Satan's Yoke. We on this board and many like it are the minority of a minority of people that get it. Getting it is frustrating on so many levels, but that is why we prep. We prep so our kids can eat, without losing their souls. We prep so that we can endure what is coming, and not just endure, but hopefully flourish. Hopefully the LEO that see the writing on the wall (and I know quite a few that do) are prepping themselves. But truly I cant say that I am surprised but what is happening in this country. Do I think it will get worse. YEP! No doubt about it. Everytime God's people turned their back on Him, He crushed them! Why should we be any different?

            So very true...

The worse things get, the deeper the divide gets. Some are awakening but more are burying their heads further in the sand.

So a lot of people are fired up about this.....

So I expect we will hear about a lot more training, taking classes, working on skill sets, getting in shape, working with the family more on pertinent skills. For if someone truly believes their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is in eminent danger, I'm sure they will begin in VIGOR a rigorous and exhaustive training regimen towards that end.

This is a good thing, if we learn anything from it and it MOTIVATES US TO DO SOMETHING to better ourselves because of it.

Yes I am fired up and I hope I have not caused anyone to get upset (atleast with me). But I believe we should be upset about people loosing their rights. After all I feel, their RIGHTS are YOUR RIGHTS and Your Rights are My Rights. If they can kick in doors in Boston than they can kick in doors in my neighbor hood.

If they can take a citizen and treat him as an enemy combatant and hold him as long as they want while torturing him then they can do the same to you or me or my children.

I will try to refrain from posting more on this topic... Atleast for a while!

I was motivated before... But yes... It has "amped up" my efforts.

And like everything in my life I try to make it multi functional / dual purpose. I use working on the garden as time to bond with my "girls", both who enjoy gardening. I use PT as time for training the brain to work while your body is "in the red" (see below). I use the last hour of my day (everyone else is asleep) I do some "Dry Fire" Training while listening to books on tape or other audio. I use a trip to store for the weeks groceries to add to my preps. I use the ride home from work to listen to bible on audio. Etc. Etc.

I have been in alot of 'life or death' situations (ie stupid youth and adrenaline junkie made for alot close calls). Anyway, one day recently while training hard I was trying to talk with a friend and during this conversation he asked a question that actually required some thought and math that I can normally do in my head pretty easily, but with my heart rate at 90% or so, not only was it hard to talk, it was also hard to think and focus. So now before training hard, I come up with some basic math problems and other "brain games" to do during my short breathers in the middle of the workout. I have found that more I do it, the more I can focus... Will this help? who knows but it makes the workout more fun and it challenges me.

As the body gets more conditioned the recovery time becomes less and less. Where I used to have to "walk it off" for a couple minutes after a run to get my heart rate and breathing back to normal, now if I stop about 30 yards short of the gate it's all back to normal by the time I get through the gate.

Ditto with fighting- doing 2 minute "round robin" sessions with a new opponent thrown in every time for 10 minutes will show you the true state of your cardio. When my pre-teen fought against 6 adults like this, the closest one in size (me) about 80 lbs. heavier than him, and he wasn't completely wrecked afterwards, I realized we were doing something right.

I expect we will see a slew of new threads with training AAR's, etc. after this.

What your seeing is our typical non BS attitude here at S and P. We discussed the hell out of this subject- it's beat into the ground now. Everyone that wanted to say something got a chance to say something. It's only fitting and proper that those that are so worked up about this will now TAKE ACTION to better themselves and their situation because of the issue. Not talk about things they won't do, how hard or how costly training is, how they can't get their families involved, how it's impossible to cut weight, learn new skills, complain about how much ammo costs and in general JUST MAKE EXCUSES. ACTION is now the key word.

I get sick of the "reasons why I can't" do this, that or the other type of posts and in general the attitudes like that. And if you haven't noticed that that attitude is everywhere now a days, you ain't been paying any attention.

Surely if we believe that nothing is more precious than liberty, than NONE OF US will let a little sweat, a little blood, a few broken bones, a few missed meals, the expense of some ammo or costs of a training course, the expense of a new pair of running shoes, the time involved training and learning new skills getting our family on board, etc. Keep us from doing what we know we must now do.

So as I said, I expect the board will be flooded with AAR's from training classes, people talking about their workout regimens, how they are losing weight, what they did to get their family on board, how they are BETTERING THEMSELVES in regards to what their BELIEFS are.

                          Jumping in here really late.

Observing all the happenings in Boston I think what we are seeing is the beginning of military style activities in response to violent events. The question becomes, is a (suspected at the time) terrorist bombing equivalent to a military attack on US soil? Imagine a foreign army waging war in a US city. The authorities (Cops, Military) would chase them wherever they ran and hid including in homes, businesses and pretty much anywhere. In Afghanistan and Iraq, US and coalition forces barge their way into anyplace they felt they needed to go in the pursuit of terrorists.

I think we would probably all agree that if enemy soldiers were invading our cities that we wouldn't be complaining about US soldiers enforcing curfews or going through homes and businesses going after the enemy.

That brings us back to Boston. Do we consider what happened an act of war? I would guess some people would and other would not. No one probably could really know if this was a crazy domestic criminal or an international terrorist until some investigation is done. How should the authorities react in the minutes following the event? If we know it is terrorist, is a military style chase through the city appropriate?

I really don't know the answers. I personally believe the authorities should follow the Constitution at all times on US soil unless an actual war is declared and being fought on US soil. Others believe we are already at that point with foreign operatives waging war here and responses were appropriate under the circumstances.

I currently believe it was prudent to ask (order?) people to stay in their homes to keep the streets clear while the authorities search for the bad guy. We all know people like to go out to witness things on TV and would get in the way of Police trying to do their jobs. On top of that, with the streets clear and the bad guy on the run, it is easier to notice someone moving around when most everyone else is home.

I believe the police going door to door was prudent but forcing their way in or pulling the families out at gunpoint was clearly wrong. This was a clear violation of the Constitution and something must be done to insure in the future that Boston (and other) authorities do not repeat this infraction.
