I checked at our local WM and they had some AR "looking" guns still in stock. I didn't stand around to check them out to see what caliber they were. There were several people buying ammo. They still had quite a bit of ammo in stock too. Of course, most people around here keep what the liberal-media-gun-control-freak-out crowd would consider an arsenal, but around here it is pretty much normal - guns for huntin' rabbits, guns for huntin' squirrels, guns for huntin' deer, guns for huntin' birds, guns for home defense, guns for self-defense, guns for just shootin'.... you know.... normal stuff.
It isn't the same story in the bigger cities around. A friend went to to Academy and a smaller - but very well stocked gun store and couldn't even get helped the first day - went back on the second day and was able to purchase a gun. Another guy I know had bought his AR before this mess, but hadn't stocked up on mags or ammo and had to work to find what he needed, but he was able to find it.
