That's fine, everyone has an opinion. I've done some real soul searching these past few days. I'm not sure how many more mass murders it will take to shake your cage, but where I'm at right now, if they never made another assault rifle, I'd be OK with it. I survived the Clinton ban just fine, and remember when the supply of high capacity magazines dried up. Not a big deal to me. My ownership of assault weapons doesn't make me a hypocrite, just grandfathered. I survived the war and came out the other side with my war trophy.

High capacity assault rifles are a fairly recent phenomenon... it's an active shooter epidemic that’s picking up momentum in America. I believe the answer is more CCW and less assault weapons.

So more CCW is the answer but less "assault weapons" and no "high capacity" is the answer.

Assault Weapons:
First anything that is "good for the goose" is also "good for the gander"... By that I mean an assault weapon is good for assaulting people but at the same time it is also great for defending people. These guys don't care about laws they are going to commit Murder, so they don't care about legal or illegal guns. So the tool of choice is something good at killing... And so they will have an evil "Black" rifle... and so should you! Especially if you are at home when these Criminals show up at your door.

High Capacity is the problem:
Really??? Lets talk facts, LEO when faced with a "Deadly Threat" have on average 17% hit rate (some are much better some or worse but on average). We all know most modern rounds like the .223 or .45 acp do NOT have instant stopping power... So several shots are needed per "Wolf". For easy math lets say it takes only 3 rounds hitting your target to stop them and again for easy math you do an awesome 20% hit rate. Now bad guys (like wolfs) are usually pack animals. Lets say that only 3 show up. Easy math says 3 targets x 3 rounds each = 9 require hits 9 hits/0.2 = 45 rounds needed. That means I need (5) 10rds mags... What the ??? NO that is crazy give my 3 NORMAL Cap mags.

Also more Propaganda:
When a pistol or rifle is designed around an "intended" capacity anything less than that is reduced capacity and anything more is high capacity. So my g17 has 17round capacity, that is NOT high cap it is NORMAL cap... the 10round mag they want to force you 2 is REDUCED CAP. An AR was designed with 30rounds intended that is NORMAL capacity for that weapon! You can find 60round mags or 75/100 round drums those are high cap or extended capacity.

Okay, so instead of being a hypocrite, you are of the mind "I've got mine, sucks to be everyone else" mentality. No...that's hypocritical as well. And yes, your ownership of "assault weapons" while calling for their ban makes you a hypocrite, not grandfathered, no matter what you think or say. You are downright a hypocrite calling for a ban while owning those items that are supposed to be banned. No different than the Commissars in the Soviet Union saying "you don't need meat more than two days a week comrade" while chowing down on their braised beef tips.

I have not looked up the "accuracy" of the average person with a shot gun because your "area of affect" is much larger something like 10x or larger (about 3" to 6" vs about 0.3") also I have not looked into how often the 1st shot with a shot gun is the "Stopping" shot. So 6 may be more than enough for 6 wolves. All I know is the more the better. Again I don't have a shotgun for defense so I have NOT done the research...BUT I would suggest that you do.

I disagree. Evidently you don't understand the "grandfathered in" concept. It’s kinda like when they raise the retirement age for social security, they don’t change it for…..aw forget it. Look, I aired my opinion, and I'm starting to feel like everyone on the board is going to start taking jabs at me because they disagree. The PRINCIPLE and PRACTICE of government is what the Constitution was written to protect us from.
