I am not a Conspiracy Theorist, but,,,
There are quite a few "Coincidences" involved here..

Right after reading the natural news link and some of the comments, I flipped to msnbc and there was a discussion on FLAGS that should've alerted authorities.
    1. drop out of college program
    2. online ammo purchase with expidited shipping - And I Quote "300 mags of ammunition"
    3. Tactical gear purchases.

The conversation really bordered on "No One should be able to buy ________ without scrutiny from authorities"

I Ask, Why 6k .223 rounds? There was no need for even 1k, even if he planned on strutting through town for twenty minutes. IDK how many mags he actually had but.....
this does seem to be making a case for monitoring purchases of gear, fireworks and ammo. What perfect timing!

If this young man was wanting to do as much damage as possible, why long guns in a semi confined, congested space? the skatta is short lived, two hand consuming and ungainly, the AR requires two hands for a seemingly untrained handler, the 2 .40s with a vest full of mags woulda created a great deal of "Gangsta" chaos on their own.

I do not and cannot understand what was going on in this persons mind, nor can I fathom staging a situation like this for some sort of political gain or statement.
It does seem to be motivating the "Gun Ban Enthusiasts" and the "Monitor Your Every Move" crowd with alarming speed and ferocity.

I reference Rumpls comment in; https://www.survivalandpreparednessf...te-night-drive.
"The sad part of the story is the reality of how "wrong" it could have gone by doing what is lawfully allowed. That is truly sad that this dread is so justified by the so-called "sobriety checks..." "
That situation could've brought out the Cavalry and been "on the news" for no reason at all!

I expect the Colorado incident will be picked apart and speculated upon for many years to come.
Do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do!

      THANK GOD FOR AR'S!!!!

Away from these rituals, new details emerged about the suspect, James Holmes, 24. Authorities said the gunman might have killed more if his assault rifle had not jammed. And he might have been mistaken for a SWAT officer by arriving police, had not one officer spotted something odd in his body armor.

Seriously, thank God he didn't have an AK!
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I heard he used a 100 round Beta type mag. They're notorious for jamming. I'd say thank God he didn't know how to clear a jam and used crappy mags.

I won't say I told you so, but ya know...like someone's just been waiting for the opportunity.

If you plan on making purchases, I'd start the ball rolling before (more) panic buying sets in.

On the other hand, I would most certainly have a problem with a six year old!
I JUST SAW THIS. No disrespect, but taking a 4 month old to an IMAX midnight showing of an adult geared film....
                1) Its not likely the kid's going to sleep through that. Half the attendees at this IMAX showing didn't realize the gun fire was real until they saw people falling over. So if you're telling me your infant could sleep through a gun fight, I'm not buying it.
                2) Its incredibly selfish to do that. A crying baby is obnoxious for other movie goers. Even if you get up and walk out, it’s too late. Kind of like fielding a phone call in a movie. I expect it at G & PG movies, but not in this case.
                3) Who wants to subject a newborn to that kind of stuff? I spent money on Mozart for Babies to sooth my kids. Meanwhile, infants are watching “Batman-Rise of the Dark Knight” that doesn’t let out until 2AM????? I’ve worked the graveyard shift for years, yet we wouldn’t dream of doing that. While it’s not criminal, it smacks of bad parenting.

I was just speaking of a midnight more adult themed movie in general. I haven't seen any of the Batman movies, not my thing. We did go to a few movies when the Man Cub was a baby, he slept through all of them, but had been fussy we would have left, before he started crying. One of the movies was a very loud animated kids movie that included explosions and gunfire.

You are making a heck of alot of assumptions and suggesting that I am both rude and a bad parent. Nice.

My kids slept thru bout everything as we didnt sheild them from life and goings on. They slept thru many movies, firework shows, welcome home parties, airline flights on PCS moves and even them sitting at the back of the outdoor ranges away from ear shattering noise while i trained etc. I packed the boy in my GP large on many hikes thru the German woods the wife and I went on etc. I do not expect any parents to stop living just because they have children and babies aint watching that if they are asleep anyway and ratings have nothing to do with sound as many childrens movies are very loud. I do expect courtesy and truthfully the sounds of many babies has become a joyful sound after dealing with scum for many years. If the movie is so loud and screen lights are so intense that you cant hear gunfire then someone getting up and walking out with a crying baby aint hurting nothing. Some of our theatres even here in hicktown Oklahoma have seperate rooms for parents to take crying babies and they can still watch the movie. I dunno that i would have taken them but then again my wife snoring as she does turn into a pumpkin after midnight anymore would have been worse than the kid LOL.

First of all, I'm addressing the behavior not the person. Secondly, I'm not making any assumptions at all. You point blank said you would bring an infant to a violent IMAX movie, starting at midnight and ending at 2AM. I simply find that behavior appalling. You seemed to have no problem expressing your opinion about what behavior is acceptable and unacceptable in your initial response. My opinion is somehow off limits? In other words, you ideas about what's OK or not OK should stand unchallenged? Anyhow, I'm not here to talk about moral issues and probably shouldn't have started down this path. I will shut up now.

Okay folks, matters of opinion on both sides. Let's keep a civil discourse here and not get sidetracked into something we all will regret later.
