Trust me, I know when it storms. I suddenly have a 70+ pound German Shepard that wants to lay on top of me because she's scared.

Looks like we still have the worst to come tonight. Might want to make sure rain jackets/ponchos are available if needed to evac quickly. I'm getting rain pretty hard in my little corner, but the bad stuff is moving west and north of me.

Again, give me a call if anyone needs help tonight.

I"m right in the middle of Missouri, and we've had rain off and on all day, with a few thunder-boomers. Nothing serious, though. We need the rain, but we don't need it all at once!

We got 2.25 inches of rain yesterday. It will be interesting to see how much we get tonight.

Are you going to the Preparedness Expo in Springfield in November?

I don't know how much rain you Okies got, but this Arkie got an inch and a half last night, making it 3.75 inches for the last few days. We are so thankful for it! The local ponds are looking pitiful, but the grass is growing again.

My rain gauge only says two inches or so, but I'm not sure if that's correct. Seemed like we had a lot more than that.

You all are more than welcome to send some of that rain to Arizona. This dry heat is getting old.
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.
