Okie Weather

    Cimarron, I know those terms. Also used to hear, "frog strangler".

    After the first wave that hit northwest OK then trailed up to Wichita we turned in and left the TV on. Patriot Lady stayed awake and watched most of what happened in the second round. I fell asleep and slept like a rock even when it came through here! We caught wind and hail too but it was short lived. Some parts of the state really caught it and there were some incredible tornados, injuries and fatalities. We heard last night that, for some reason, Woodward's sirens didn't go off. There are 5 dead so far and I think those were in Woodward.
    Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

        Matt, just heard that the tornado hit the repeater tower so the sirens didn't go off.

          Here we go again, 4inch hail everything getting tore up bad, tornandos on the ground and 80mph straight line winds
          and this is the food day, tommorows the bad one!!

            took the tarp and wrapped a tub lid for a hard/soft armor then tucked the ends into the doors and trunk lod to hold it down. It took an 80mph wind and held.

                  Checking in. Spent quite a bit of time getting more familiar with my basement tonight after the town sirens went off. And that computerized voice on the weather band gets annoying after a while lol

                  Storm kept rolling around me for the most part except the winds. But everything held. However, I have been putting off getting some plywood and hangers for the basement windows. Not to keep the windows from breaking, just to keep the glass from flying across the room if they did. So Friday, I know what I'm heading to Lowes to get.

                  Everyone make it through okay?

                    We're fine. We had some large hail, very strong wind, heavy rain, thunder and lightening. The wind was strong enough to knock over the cinder block that keeps the door shut on the chicken barn, so it was pretty wet inside there this morning. The chickens must have stayed away from the door tho as all chickens are present and accounted for this morning. Typical Okie storm.
                    Round 3 is supposed to be coming in later today.

                          All good here. Spent some time in the shelter. Had a funnel bout 3 miles from here and headin at us so we bailed then couldnt leave cause of the hail. I had out our kevlars on but still wasnt trying to take a beating. That time/effort spent on the shelter pays off big time. Gonna check the board then get ready for the next round tonight. Last night most folks lost their car/house windows from the baseball/softball hail. We only had marble but alot of it with an occasional golf ball. The 80mph winds took down power lines here n there and made me alot of kindling for future fires.

                            looks like we are in for some rounds this evening so protect your windsheilds, be alert and tape down the neighbors cat to the driveway so it dont blow away! :)
