I have been watching the situation in Greece. It has been getting worse relatively quickly. Inflation is taking off, suicide is up 40%, people eating out of garbage cans. If this is where we are headed, how long do you think it will take? Personally, I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has. I think this is the most likely scenario that could happen in the good ol USA. Do you agree or disagree. I know it is hard to predict what is coming our way, but I'd like to know different opinions.

Yeah, I think they're delaying the inevitable. It's only gonna make the collapse that much worse in my opinion. I know everything is pretty obvious as far as inflation goes. My eyes were opened a little wider last week. I went to pick up some alfalfa square bales. I haven't bought any in about six years. At that time, they were about $10 a bale. I paid $20 for a 40 lb. square bale! About ten years ago the same hay was $5.50 a bale. Yeah, a little inflation.אני אעמוד עם ישו וישראל

It's coming faster than the mainstream media wants to, or will, admit. After all, they have to parrot the White House lie that the American economy is in recovery.
World-wide maritime shipping is at it's lowest level since 9-12-2001, gasoline and fuel distillates delivery is tanking faster than any time since 1984. What does this mean? This means there is no demand, which means there IS NO recovery, and in fact in a few months we may, I repeat may, be in recession once again.
Hold on. Prepare for bad times.

Here in the valley we have had higher sucicide rates and something like 17 police shootings since the begining of the year. Prices or going higher with wages staying flat breeds anger and depression. People are getting desperate and once someone losses everything then they simply lose it.When an emergency is upon you the time for preparation has past.

What I got out of those websites I posted is overall demand is falling for fuel because production of goods is falling, and remember everything moves by truck at some point.
The shipping downturn indicates lessening import/export.
Taken together, this tells me that the "economic recovery" is not as good as I am being told.
Since the wife and I have very little discressionary income to begin with, the only fuel I use is a 75 mile round trip commute into the city to work. She's retired, stays here on the farm except for essential trips, especially since her truck's a diesel (20-30 cents more per gallon than gas).
No, I have no fear, since I have no control over outside forces anyway. It is what it is.
We just keep on stocking up on canned/dry food, buying quantities on sale any given week. The wife's disabilities have kept her from having a food garden for several years, maybe this year with my help we can get some crops in.
