  • Doomsday Preppers Part Deux

Coming on next Tuesday Feb 7 at 9pm IIRC.

Been catching some TV here and there at my "third job" taking care of some injured folks. Seems like their has been about a million commercials for this new show. Kinda make it out like it's a "series."

A gal from Nat Geo was at the Prepper Conference Sootch and SouthernPrepper's crew put on in SC in Oct. We declined interviews several times. The press has gotten a lot better than they were in the 1990's but I still don't trust them.

I suspect we will see a few more familiar faces on this "series."

Who's all watching it? Let's discuss it here. Someone want to post a youtube link after it airs for us unplugged types :)
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I would like to watch it, however, we do not have cable so it either has to be on Netflix or the Internet. However, I will watch this thread with interest to see what people think of it. :-)

I have watched most of these people on youtube for a while. Most of what gets spoken about on youtube is common sense for us in the "KNOW", but I always tune in for the nugget that I wasnt aware of. The wood gasifier from engineer775 introduce me to his channel which introduced me to a better understanding of water displacement, and Thermoelectic generators. Very cool. There is this one guy that I have watch his channel and will be on the show "dsarti"...He is a little eccentric, but while his message isnt whitewashed at all, his mindset isnt too far off from mine on some respects.

I will be DVR'ing it...not sure about that Dsarti guy...I thought I saw him with a youtube video about using hand warmers as O2 absorbers....I could be wrong but I thought it was him. Can anyone confirm?

Southernprepper1 and Engineer775 have some good info...really enjoyed the wood gasifier.

Oh boy, that's the big guy with handwarmers and slide around on the couch to put your "vest" on deal? I watched just a bit of each one- that was enough.

The Dsarti guy. I knew I knew him from somewhere!
I was looking for youtube vids about ham radio, and this guy was ranting about Japanese radio prices going up.
            and old hams sending email.

I'll watch it once it comes to the internet. I really believe that you can learn something from everyone. It might be "what NOT to do." But, you can learn something. :)

I believe National Geographic lets you watch their shows after they have aired via internet streaming, so you should be able to watch it just a few days after we watch it on the boob tube. =)

I wonder if NATGEO has their addresses listed?
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Yep.....all this show is going to do is 2 things 1 good, 1 bad...

For the guys in the business they are going to gain business........not bad.

But it will also increase the demand so the supply will go up.

People like me that are only 2 years in may not be able to keep up if that happens.

But these shows are cool because it does give you the visual instead of just reading it. I will watch just to watch.

I wonder how many armchair commandos and mall ninjas come out of the woodwork? From what I hear World of Warcraft isnt fun anymore
