    prepper way of thought-

    full waxed cheese roll= 75$
    wax= 2$ per 5 lbs
    1 lb of cheese- 5$
end result- 150$ spent on waxing your own 1lb cheese blocks, with the viewpoint that " i can only eat so much cheese and dont want the roll to spoil..."

They FINALLY had a decent person on the show, although he was not a "Prepper," but rather a "Firearm Instructor." This guy actually knew his tradecraft and I noticed nothing but good, safe firearm training and his familiarity with the weapons was clear. Good skills from what I saw... The "prepper girl" he was training was allright... Has potential...

The wilderness man playing Indian Scout was a laugh...

"Be sure to tip your waitresses, I'll be here all week..." :)

    His name fits ;)

So I missed going over and seeing this show to do something more productive last night ;) What super awesome prepping tips did I miss? What "senior preppers" (I love that) did they feature?

WAXING STORE BOUGHT CHEESES: Wow, wax is flying off the shelf here! Many people are trying to prepare for a different type of future. Here is our short explanation of waxing store bought cheese.

Usually cheese bought in the grocery store is an already aged to perfection finished product. Waxing it in small pieces may cause some problems. If a cheese is not turned on a regular basis gravity will cause all the moisture to fall to the bottom causing a mushy mess under the wax. We would suggest you buy whole wheels or make your own cheeses and after waxing them, turn over at least once a week to prevent problems. We also suggest you air dry your cheese for 2-3 days prior to waxing.

After all cheese is a living breathing food, ENJOY!

The sad thing is a LOT of people look at Nat Geo as an organization with integrity, and this series is really hurting them...

LOL Matt!!! I am worn out of training MOPP gear exchange to people that don't care, that is don't care until SCUDs start going off, then everybody wants to be the NBC NCO's buddy. LOL

Hey Rmpl don't knock those primitive native women topless,,,, that was my only source of soft (adult magazine) when I was a delinquent pretending to be a nerd at the local library, LOL...

I hit my "skip 30 seconds" DVR button the whole way through... Totally useless, makes us all into lunatics, and nothing to learn... What aggravated me the most was NatGeo's commentary on every persons "reason" for prepping by saying it would never happen (aka these people are crazy...). FU NatGeo! ... Stick with showing primitive, native women topless...

I want to know how Matt REALLY FEELS? ;)

Agree 100% on the trucker- "good heart" but that will often get you in a pickle.

I looked at the cars "blocking" the road and I thought- "man someone is going to have some messed up cars after this..."

Say this with the caveat that I know literally nothing about big trucks, but why if TS has HTF would he keep the trailer? I'm thinking if he was hired/volunteered for a mercy mission ("You weren't on any mercy mission this time your hineness, several rebel prepper transmissions were beamed to your rig, I want to know what happened to those secret plans..." LOL) wouldn't whoever hired him be most likely able to provide the container/trailer? Again I don't know how this works. Have to assume he owns the box and has no where to store it?

Here again no one is thinking outside the box- some pre-printed HAZMAT decals/placards that he could put on after the fact, along with a couple barrels of orange goo and your average dunski might believe the dude was hauling toxic waste, etc. Basically the "you want some of this toxic sludge? Help yourself!" approach.

Definitely got baited in to the little ambush, smelled that through the TV, LOL. Why did he get out of the truck or even slow it down?

He needs to watch "Warlords of the 21st Century" and then make some modifications to his rig ;)

I must say, I understand people like this guy- big heart- better than I've understood most so far on that show. However his big heart is going to put him at risk as was made clear to him. Also, not knocking anyone but "I was a cop" is not the end all be all.

Was the rifle during his "patrol" some 9mm carbine? I have bought toys like those in a long time so I'm not up on those sorts of thing. Why? Sorry I don't buy the "it uses the same magazine as my pistol" rationale. Still a carbine length in a pistol cal, don't see the point, sorry. I'm thinking side folding SGL 21-94 or maybe even an MForgery instead of the pistol cal carbine.

Truck driving man needs to spend some time when he's on the road attending some conferences, campouts, etc. in these various places he frequents and develop some networking. Not a panacea but OVER TIME, he might be able to work out a sleepover arrangement and a "can I stash a couple drums of diesel at your place" arrangement with people he's developed trust with.

AT A MINIMUM, he needs more caches, cheap rental locker in a rural area not far from his main lines of runs. Drums of diesel, hand cranked pump, some maintenance stuff, extra supplies.

Pandemic lady- plugging her business and putting too much faith in some thin plastic and paper..... Stay around a major metro area during a pandemic and still "go outside", come on. Agree with Matt- see some OCD there.

I hope by now people reading this are seeing how NATGEO is catching/using the little nuances from the family members to further alienate/make fun of the person being shown. For example- re watch this segment and see if you can catch all the little nuances involving the family and the lady prepping. It goes deeper than just the "I wanted to watch the game" aka you tricked me, thing the Dad said. Subtle for sure, but there.

You saw that a lot with the Jax family moving because of the "polar shift." Which reminds me

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE FLIPPING "MASSIVE POLAR SHIFT" CONCEPT TO ME???

Love how NATGEO showed the parents pushing the "move" down the kids throats, especially the Mom guilt tripping the teenage girl "well when Florida floods and we are all bobbing like bowling pins, would that be a good time to move?" Come on people, way to encourage others.....

One of the only ones they have shown moving to better their survival and they have to say that? Give me a flippin break.

Guess what lady, your teenage daughter only has a couple more years at home. She's going to remember that you moved her because of this highly unlikely scenario of yours, and most likely deeply despise you because of it.

Yeah, food storage was just plain stupid- soda bottles yawn.

A good one for NATGEO to follow up on in a year or five- see if they are even living up there then.

I couldn't stomach watching the fat Jezebel again in the re run, turned it off and drove home.

    Ok, gotcha,
    I'm confused then.
Nat Geo needs to not change their showtimes around so much.
Last week I got to watch an episode because they played one at 0100 local, at 0000 they played that evenings new episode so I got to see about 10-15 minutes of that, and then a whole episode. Last nite, it looks like they played an older episode at midnite, and then they had some street racing show at 0100.

All I got to see was the last 5 minutes. There was some guy and his family that was going to stick together. They got downgraded for not having enough fuel. Someone needs to tell them that wood takes a while to season.
