I heard yesterday on Fox they plan to actually bring plyboard and insulation to build shacks for cold weather. I'd love to see a tea party protester do that and not go to jail. Personally, I think the only reason they're still on the radar is that the MSM is pushing it, HARD. The marjority of Americans just wish they'd go away.

Our CURRENT mess really started manifesting itself due to the ECONOMIC attacks at 9/11.

Nope. Remember who TRAINED a lot of them in the 80's. The CIA trained a lot of the muj when they were fighting the Soviets. These guys are not completely stupid. It's called asymetrical (sp) warfare.

Their target was the American economy. Remember the weeks after wards? Everyone was sitting home, not going to the malls (spending money), not flying out to see Aunt Edna for a visit (spending money). The economy was at a stand still.

That was when you first (in this current mess) started seeing "bailouts." Airlines were the first. Bush had to tell people to go to the malls, everything was safe, nothing to see here folks, go back to your consumptive lifestyle. The media cooperated and stopped running the stories about potential mass death from WMD's, etc.

Had the media continued with the doom and gloom flavor they had been putting out, the economy might very well have collapsed. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE FOURTH ESTATE (THE MEDIA).

What happened next? "OK, let's move interest rates down to about nothing, American's can't do basic math anyways, let's make getting a home really easy." Then a whole boatload of people bought homes, the "housing bubble" got started in earnest.

The rabbits have continued to be pulled from hats as long as I can remember. I think Momma Rabbit has went sterile now however..... She has no more to give.

The gubmint "bailed out" the airlines, AIG, and the list of others, NOT because they love capitalism. They bailed them out to save us from- FORESTALL would be a better term- an economic collapse.

The flip side of the coin, is that the 40+ years of socialist training in the publix edumacation sistem has done what it was designed for. And now we have small minded people that can't understand basic business principles or why capitalism is superior to communism.

Meet any Russian immigrant and they will answer that question for you. Ditto with any Cuban immigrant.

First let us point out some key facts you are overlooking. The 1% that you are speaking of, pays the MAJORITY of federal income tax that the lower 50% NEVER PAYS and I will add reaps the rewards of entitlements THEY DIDNT PAY FOR.

It is the 1% that buys the YACHTS that employ 1000's of people from the woodworker who polishes and shapes the walnut to the average joe who runs the machinery to chrome out the metal on the boat, the workers at the diesel plant who assemble the engines (yes ENGINES is plural), the ladies (yes I'm stereotyping sorry) that do the needle work to stitch together all the leather upholstery, (I could go on for a long post) to the salesman. Then don't forget that YOUR political officials who keep promising YOU more entitlements once again OVER TAX this 1% when they purchase their toys (Yacht) with a luxury tax. Bet you would be bi678ing if there was a luxury tax on your POV.

As for regulation, ALL legitimate economists and businessman, state the biggest cost to running a company is the ever growing regulations that the government makes them jump through hoops to get.

Why do you think the major automotive manufacturers produce small diesel trucks for OTHER countries? Because of the TREE huggers and the POLITICIANS' regulations. Even though diesels have proven to be BETTER for the environment, YOUR politicians have declared all diesel trucks must meet requirements X, Y, and Z. So the manufacturers just move these AWESOME vehicles to OTHER countries, so THANK YOU screwing us again.

Its like the guy once told me one day at the diner. While sitting at the counter (I sit at the counter when eating alone, makes it easier for the waitresses) the guy next to me started up a conversation. Complaining why the idiots at the feed store wouldn't sign up with him on his petition to unionize. He said "I told him they would get more money per hour and more benefits." He kept spewing feces out of his mouth for a good 3 to 4 minutes, then I finally had enough and interrupted. "So you think you have the right to FORCE your employer to pay you more?" "Who do you think will end up paying for all these benefits?" "Don't you think the owner of the feed lot would have to raise the prices of all the feed to compensate for such demands?" Typically democrat response: "Ya so what." SO WHAT???? There was a farm auction just last week because a farmer could not afford to keep his farm afloat, and there is going to be another one within a couple months I bet. So your plan is to force the farmers who are barely holding on to pay MORE money? Let me ask you democrat, when all the local farmers (which are small family farmers) go out of business and lose their farms, who do you think is going to be buying feed from your feed lot? It certainly wont be the big companies that are coming in, and buying up all these lost farms....

Greed is not how much you make. All those evil rich people talk is a bunch of bravo sierra envy!! Money is amoral. The love of money is the root of all evil, that is the real issue.

Its not the amount of money that you have, since it is amoral it is not good or evil, its what you do with it. I will use Dave Ramsey's analogy that he uses in his FPU class:

Money its not good and its not bad.

Money doesn't make decisions...a brick is amoral i can take a brick and throw it through a plate glass window or i can take a brick and build a hospital or a home for unwed mothers, I can take a brick and build a clinic in a neighborhood that doesn't have one. The brick doesn't care its just a brick but when you put it in the hands of a human it starts taking on life and then we say that guys got a bunch of bricks he must be evil or that one has no bricks he must be good, and we start making these judgments. Its just a brick. I have met rich people that were total greedy jerks, haven't you? of course you have. I have met poor people that are total greedy jerks, haven't you? of course you have. I have met poor people that are some of the most Godly people on the planet, haven't you? of course you have. I have met some rich people that are absolutely incredible human beings and do all kinds of cool things with their wealth and are some of the most Godly people on the planet, haven't you? of course you have. See its not the money is it. If you're a jerk and you've got bricks or you're a jerk and haven't got bricks, you're still a jerk. Money is amoral. You're not bad because you've got some and you're not good because you don't. It doesn't work that way its just money.

So we have to be careful are we envious of someone else and are we in love with money...that is the question that we need to be asking ourselves and so do the 99%'ers. What the OWS protests represent is their envy and their love of money. I am not saying all of them are but the spirit behind the movement is. I am not saying that all the 1%'ers are saints but you can bet there are some that are not evil greedy jerks.

My 2 cents from someone who is aspiring to be a leader and not a follower and if I become a 1%'er great if I don't that's fine too. I am going to work my butt off and handle the money that God gives me to handle the way he wants me to handle it same goes for my time and my talent.

Thanks but it wasn't me that said it. It was Dave Ramsey in Lesson 1 of his Financial Peace University class. I am leading my 4th class as a part of his grass roots movement called "The Great Recovery". It is all about people getting some financial education too many people wandering around like Gomer Pyle on valium out there without a clue.

What you said also was an excellent point. How about employees that work their butts off to make sure they produce the best product out on the market with the highest quality they can so that they sell more than the other company which would enable their employer to give them a raise or how about they quit whining and wasting company money standing around the coffee pot and find ways to save the company money? (trying to make a point)

Its this whole gimme gimme gimme spirit of envy that makes me nuts.

I had one particular sergeant assigned to my squad while stationed in Korea, his morning routine was to get to work right on time, and go straight to the latrine for his morning dump. This ALWAYS took a minimum of 20 minutes some times as long as 30 minutes. Well, let me say he was quite shocked at his first quarterly counseling at his job performance rating. When I explained to him about what time we start work, he said "you can't hold it against me that I have to use the latrine" I quickly corrected his attitude, and let me tell you, he quickly changed his mind and took his morning dump in the barracks BEFORE coming to work. It is this type of mentality that most smokers have. The fact of the matter is, if you are not doing the job your paid to do, someone else in that branch (or squad in my case) has to pull their and YOUR workload while you are out doing YOUR thing. It is selfish, and it is just not right.

I found out about this article from Dave Ramsey as well. Some might not like his style of teaching but he has definitely inspired me and he thinks that both parties need to get their act together to get this country out of its financial mess.

First I loved the comment about money being amoral... It reminds me of "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" a gun is just a tool (very advanced compared to a knife or baseball bat but none the less a tool.

Also glade to see that not everyone forgot that we are here because of poor regulations (not the lack of regulation)... The media keeps telling us that we need to regulate industry. Trust the law makers (the ones that got us in the boat) they know how to fix it now... More of their regulations will fix the problem of their other regulations.... NO THANK YOU!

What gets me is the entitlement mentality of most of the OWS ilk. I've seen several interviews with the protesters, who when asked if they applied for entry level positons or for part time work, state that those positions are not "good enough" for them. I'm sorry, did I miss the new rule that states just because you have a degree you are entitled to a six figure salary big house and fancy car without actually working for it or proving your worth?
What happened to the American work ethic? When did that go away? I've worked my butt off for 24 years now with a lot to go to get what I have. No one handed me anything. What makes these holier than thou marxist socialist usefull idiots think they have ANY right to what I have earned.
I love how they rail against capitalism while wearing their Northface and Columbia clothing, and tweeting on their IPhones in one of the most prospeous cities in the world. How do they think all those things came to be?
This whole movement angers me to no end. I guess I just don't understand how we lost our value system as Americans.
No, wait, I do. It all started with the banning of prayer in schools. As soon as we took God out of our national conversation our soul left as well. How else could we expect a society lacking the guidance of His eternal light to act?
Until we can bring The Lord back into the consciousness of this countries leaders and people, we will continue to falter.
Now, where do I see this going? One of two ways, The American people grow tired of OWS' self indulgent greed and envy and the movement becomes a nagging fringe element, or, with the help of the MSM and Obama the movement grows legs and starts to influence the national discourse on the economy pushing us into a european style socialism and bankruptcy causing another civil war.
Note I did not say revolution for we will be fighting to return to the old ways. It will be one ideology vs. the other. Freedom vs. socialism.
Now before you dismiss this notion as absurd, look at how polarized the country is and the state of our economy. Remember that we are at best three meals away from anarchy. If the economy and infrastructure becomes paralyzed and tanks, all it takes is one charismatic smooth talking organizer to whip the idiots into a frenzy. Will this happen tomorrow? No. Next year? probably not. After 2012 if the election goes he wrong way? I'm not willing to bet against it.
I pray it never comes to be and that this is just a sleep deprived fantasy, but I fear for my country as I never have before. I continue to be amazed at how far we have fallen in just a few years.
Sorry if this comes off as rambling but I am just typing as the thoughts flow, I really did not know what I was going to say when I hit the reply button. Feel free to agree or otherwise, This is just one mans humble opinion.
