  • WARNING: Don't be scared on Nov. 9, 2011 This is only a test.

Homeland Security/FEMA et. al. is going to completely shut down all radio and TV communications for 3 1/2 minutes on Tuesday, November 9, 2011, at 2:00p.m. (No mention of computers, yet.)

I haven't heard ANYTHING about this so I thought I would pass the information on to all of you on the forum. I believe it would have been prudent to tell the general public what this test is for, when it will be, and how it will help us. Someone could panic without proper warning.

Inside this link of information about the upcoming test, is a video commentary by Glenn Beck. Whether you like him or not, he does explain a lot about radio emergency testing as well as his thoughts about the Nov. 9th test.

Beck Video on site... On November 9th, at 2 pm EST, the government will seize the airwaves in America for 3 1/2 minutes to offi...

So, is that the time we all commit unauthorized transmissions - just to mess with them?
Or do we all stay silent at that time so they can only wonder...?

That's 2 p.m. EASTERN STANDARD TIME. This is the first I've heard of it too, and I stay pretty well up to date on what's happening. Why aren't every television station in the country telling us about this? I listen to the radio in the car, and none of the stations I listen to have mentioned it. Are they trying to scrap the living crap out of everybody? What's up with this stuff?

Probably doing it because they are drunk with power - doing it 'because they can'.
In God we trust, everyone else bring data.

                http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/emer...ationwide-test

At the Federal Communications Commission's June 9, 2011 Agenda meeting, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau Chief Jamie Barnett, joined by representatives from FEMA and the National Weather Service, announced that the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) would take place at 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on November 9, 2011. The purpose of the test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism. EAS Participants currently participate in state-level monthly tests and local-level weekly tests, but no top-down review of the entire system has ever been undertaken. The Commission, along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will use the results of this nationwide test to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism, and will work together with EAS stakeholders to make improvements to the system as appropriate.
Above are links to both Homeland Security and the FCC which announce this event. No one seems to be reporting this. Seem strange.

The test is still on for next Wednesday.

Breitbart finally wrote an article concerning the LACK of information regarding next Wednesday's nationwide test. As posted on Drudge:

I finally saw the commercial for this tonight on Fox 5 Atlanta.....seemed like a "robotic" commercial but it did say what they are doing with it...

Honestly, if you really think about it, all they are doing is making that annoying EBS thing that used to come on local TV a nation wide thing. It could be for something bigger or a way to shut us down, but I think honestly it is a harmless test. For petes sake you can now get text messages when bad weather is coming.

But when I put my aluminum ball cap back on, they could be getting ready to use it for when Israel and Iran go toe to toe so people that arent up to the minute with news wont have that extra warning to Bug Out or hit the stores before the hordes....

I can just picture how this started - a bunch of fema execs in a meeting room discussing how to spend more money than last year so as to increase their budget. Wonder how much this "test" and "nationwide" study is going to cost? Even without the sinister connotations I ask do we really "need" to be spending money on stuff like this when the nation is in debt beyond comprehension?

Remember: The nationwide test is Wednesday, November 9, at 2:00 p.m. EST.
It will last about 3 minutes on all radio and TV stations.

Where I live, the local newspaper did print an announcement. However, I suspect MANY Americans will not have heard a word about the test.
Please inform your friends and neighbors. Three minutes of blank TV and buzzing radio could scare someone.

I too had a very short article in our daily newspaper. It just strikes me strange that the PR on this is almost non existant.
