Yesterday a person contacted me and asked for me to come over and look at his preps and to evaluate his preparedness level and security. I drove to the home which was located in a very, very nice neighborhood. I am talking million dollar homes. I knocked on the door and was meet by the nanny. Then after waiting for about five minutes in the east wing where there was a picture of the guy I was about to talk to with Joe Biden Ugh. I meet Mr. X. He was a big time wheeler and dealer type and he told me the following:
As he looked me up and down then saying with a high class I’m better than you attitude, I have friends in high places and I need to get prepared for what’s coming our way here in the near future. Then Mr. X says I had my employees go to the preparedness store and by everything I need. Your Job is to inform me if I need anything else. We walked into the 6 car garage and there was at least $10,000 worth of gear, water jugs, food, and anything else you could imagine. We had 3 people (his “employees”) following us and On the top of one of the stacks was a Sun Oven. I started to explain to Mr. X how if an event were to take place being able to cook of boil water without power is a must. Mr. X points to an employee named Mark. He tells Mark “listen to what this man has to say about this oven thing because this will be your job”. Mr. X gets a phone call and excuses himself for a moment. I talked to Mark and the two others and said what is this guy’s deal. Mark told me Mr. X had been getting calls from his friends in power and was getting paranoid. I asked Mark so if something was to happen what is your plan. Mark told me he was not sure but stated that he would be taking care of his family, not Mr. X.
Mr. X came back and said “Ok what do you think” I told Mr. X you have a lot of work to do and it is going to take some time to get everything set up and tested, then show you how to use everything. Mr. X Informed me that he would not be taking part in the setup, testing and learning how to use the items and finished it up with that is why I employ people. At this point I am mad at this guy and can’t stand him. I let go and said it. I said “Do you really thing that if we enter any type of event your employees are going to be here waiting on you hand and foot while their families starve at home. I followed up by saying if it gets bad enough you will be on your own and you will probably end up a victim if you don’t learn how to survive on your own. (I might have thrown in some language I shouldn’t have) I could see on his face no one has talked to him this way probably in a long time.
He stood there for about 30 seconds not saying a word and as I was about to walk away he said just do your job and teach the staff. The Staff I thought as he walked away. I spent most of the day with the three guys who were really cool and Mr. X paid me to teach these guys how to start their survivalist path. At the end of the day I asked the guys “Ok what are your thoughts” Mark looked at the other guys and said Mr. X is toast if something happened, and added I know me and my family will be just fine.
I took a few things away from this experience.
1) No matter how much money you have it may not keep you alive in a survival situation.
2) If this guy really is connected to someone in power then something bad is coming.
3) Seeing how rich people live makes me MAD. (understatement)
