First you stated to the effect that with the "bunker mentality" enough people (bad guys, starving pilgrims, etc.) would get together and come and take your stuff. Then later, you state that sort of thing didn't even happen in the Irish Potato Famine of the 1800's, the Great Widget Shortage of 1604, etc.

You railed on about how the people in that show were idiots cause no one was thinking or acting long term (IN YOUR VIEW), yet in the thread about sourdough bread when someone was mentioning Sourdough Starter you said

Why wouldn't you just keep packages of dry yeast on hand? I have some in my freezer and the jar I use frequently I keep in my refrigerator.

Yeast packet- once it's gone it's gone
Sourdough starter- can be nurtured, built up and "kept going" for quite some time.

Seems like your not being clear with YOUR planning, neither your thoughts. Is keeping critical foodstuffs in a fridge or freezer "long term" planning? Definitely not.

And I have to know with my "bunker mentality"- are the "roving bands of vigilantes" going to come for my "pallets of flour" or not? LOL I mean if they aren't, I can sell the seventeen thousand weapons I have (along with my seventeen thousand hands to use them) to buy more "pallets of flour". If they are coming, then I clearly need MORE WEAPONS!!!

Going back in the bunker now..... We need one of those poping the head out of the bunker and looking around emoticons. Anyone know how we can get one of those? I'm busy stacking "pallets of flour" over top of my cases of guns or I'd look.... ;)
