Things I noticed during the show this evening that are punctuated and noteworthy:

    Friendly fire isnt

When approaching the friendlies (scared triggerhappy family) you must identify yourself before a visual is established. This should be practiced now- code words, voice, signal, radio frequency etc.

Pursuit of the enemy (into a funnel) can get you whacked

Building a funnel of crossfire and heavy weapondry with high ground is still good stuff and doable with small contingencies

Don't pattern yourself especially when in guerilla ops because you are already there for lack of superiority in logistical firepower and giving up the suprise element takes away the one thing you have going (Think of a variety of things-Wolverines!)

If someone can't follow orders then remove them until their issues are fixed no matter how good the are at the mission

Engineering on the fly = Adapt, Overcome, Improvise = Solutions

    Medical Support rocks!!

Logistics - Needed (remember how many support personal it takes for one shooter soldier and we are own support so the majority of effort/time should be in this field, I know it's not the coolio stuff but eating, stayin warm, shoed and alive is alot cooler than not)

    Longhunting - ya gotta eat!

    Money the new fire tender!LOL

Finding a girl, 3 cans of soup and a running bike - Humanity can we hang on to it during these times? Tough question and one I have seen broken before

Aliens, they always leave stuff in you, LOL

POWs should never have free range until properly debriefed

Anything that poses a threat shouldnt be near command and control (or maybe just the family for our senarios). This means individuals, areas or ongoing operations. Seperate them by distance, time and layered security. Where/how would you hold something/someone right now?

Air Support - The ultimate prep

I forgot that was coming on again. Got caught up in yard work and then getting us some dinner. I did managed to catch Longmire though. I'll have to try to catch the rerun of the new FS episode.

Things I noticed during the show this evening that are punctuated and noteworthy:

Zombie Land or Skitters- Rule #1 Double Tap, no seriously learn the anatomy of whatever you hunt

Keep your friends close, enemies closer

If impaled by an object remember to leave the object in until medical pulls it out otherwise you bleed out and thats real medical folks not someone like me with super glue and bubblegum in a tacticool kit. Chances are even with that he would died in transport or removal from the tree but hey it's tv right

Taking the "honored guest" to the mess tent, not to the CP. Again do you have a plan on what to do with someone whether a questionable guest or a POW type?
I believe i woulda limited her talking to other folks more than that though. I woulda been questioning her more than her telling stories combined with a thorough search. Think SALUTE report

The CO kept OPSEC of movement location

Yep...The doc and a couple of female soldiers would have been looking at her back to make sure she wasn't a Skitter drone if I was the CO. That was an awfully big coat she was wearing.

I notice in most shows and written stories they send out parties to collect medications, fuel etc. Lets just say that is something that could happen. You would need to know medications or have a quick reference to be able to see what it is you are grabbing because some knuckledragger like me is gonna show back up with a whole bag full of prenatel meds or something stupid. Ya know all them high tech names get confusin specially with skitters on your 6
On the fuel, what do you look for and how do you retrieve it? Again knowledge that would be needed before hand.
Now before someone jumps on me i'm not saying go raid the local pharmacy or steal the local stations gas because a storm hit, i'm purely disccussing PAW, SHTF etc ya know zombie hoarde or alien invasion where the rules are changed stuff
Maybe someone in the group needs to know alot about what they are looking for and can study now, be in the field, get training like some of the classes offered here, buy a drug guide etc.

My Wife is an RN and we were at Barnes Noble over the weekend and she was looking at getting a newer Drug Guide - $60 for the latest version or get a Physicians Desk Reference.

Nursing Books - half.com or some other college text book sight that sells used books can be a great resource.

Knowing what off road diesel and highway diesel looks like would be useful as well as the smell.

MIO when you go out on the patrol just grab all the meds cause even the prenatal vitamins can be very useful :) Running and gunning from skitters would be very taxing and the likely hood of getting great nutrition in that situation would be low so prenatal vitamins would be a great way to supplement the needs of your body.

I know I'm way behind the curve getting these on DVD so much later, but you guys have gotta help me find one of those suppressed 12 gauge shotguns with the cool night vision sight! I feel very under prepared without one... I mean seriously, AK's don't seem to affect skidders much, so I"m kinda behind the curve here.

Where are they finding these neat guns like the Dashika they have mounted on the truck? Seriously, are their any working LAW launchers in U.S. inventory?

The youngest boy Ben I think, annoys the living crap out of me. Last season it was "yeah Dad the aliens invaded, killed Mom and everything but damnit I want a ripstick!" OK OK little Ben, we'll risk some people to get you a ripstick, just stop complaining."

Now he's on the bus, his Dad had an "implant" from the aliens, he's acting like a putz again and I'm waiting for him to be like "Dad, I'm worried, their is only 297 days till Christmas and I don't think you are going to find me anything cool, you better hop to it."

That kid needs an arse kicking. "Ripstick" meet behind, behind meet skateboard thing.

I'll agree he's about the last little $@%^ard I'd want anywhere near me armed, but they need to find something productive for him to do versus him being a putz, it's annoying as hell.

Up to the part where Amelia Airhead flies in to tell them to come to the big reptile Jam/Continental Congress in South Khakilackee....

And yes I like the show, but the little brat does bother the hell outta me

Edited to say- The wife told me the little annoying boy is Matt not Ben
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Good call, when dealing with alien species, I figure you should treat them like the .gov which is very similar to an alien species at times.
Just picture the Vohm in your head saying .....I'm from the government and I'm here to help!
