I have been a firefighter for 23 years. the emergency services have access to buildings anyway - its called a lock box/knox box system - there is one master key that opens a box that has all the keys to access a building, this is nothing new. look at it this way, if the authorities want inside your property that bad do you think a key is going to stop them?

its the thought of them having a key to my house, where by they could enter it without my knowledge of them being there. I don't have a surveillance system to watch my doors to catch them illegally entering my house. We all realize that there are these handy dandy pick lock guns and what not that they could use its just being told that "I have to give them a key to my house". They are not getting a key! Again if my house is on fire kick down the door please, you are not getting a key.
